Isaiah Whitehead, SG (Seton Hall verbal)

In all seriousness though, we have been played like a fiddle. SHU broke the rules without legally breaking them. No getting around that. You can be wrong and legally right. A coach essentially pimped out his own player for a position. And while people say SHU isn't the "hot school", the bottom line is the bottom line...they got him to commit and we didn't. And this just opened up pandora's box for Briscoe to commit and also some other player whose name I forget...it was a hispanic name though. Anyway, our offense either must prove to us it can be powerful once and for all. If not, then Lavin needs to hit a grandslam in 2015 and there are no guarantees the way recruiting is these days especially when you have the Hall doing grease ball stuff behind the scenes.

Once SHU gets Briscoe too, they will be every bit as dangerous as us, and no one else will laugh at those who said SHU scares them recruiting wise. Lavin apologists remind me of Obama apologists...just because a guy is nice and dresses the part does not mean he can win. Lavin has proven he can recruit but he needs to prove he can win. Now.

Do you have a shut (up) off switch?

You are a real environmentalist. You keep recycling the same manure over and over again.

You're such a douche bag. If I get banned it will be worth it just to let you know you're a little whiney bitch. I dislike you and people like you. I don't think everyone needs to agree on chat boards however not everything is the end of the world. Go transfer to SHU and root for them you dip shit. Eff off.

Neither agree or disagree, just quoting this to give the mods a chance to delete another one of my posts.

Haaaaa...

@AdamZagoria: Whitehead's mother said he thought about SJU but they weren't as consistent in his recruitment as SHU was & SHU made him feel wanted

Actually, St. John's was on him longer until the latter part of the summer. You never heard Seton Hall being mentioned until all the other schools had dropped out of the recruitment.

Oh, well....

Will he sign early?
What if Hall tanks this year?

Just some things I wonder

Thinking the same thing. Although seeing Whitehead change his mind is more difficult to see happening with Tiny's new job in the balance.

I think the expectation is that the Hall will be a bad team this year. I expect they will be a bad team next year as well even with Whitehead.

One question - when do you think Whitesell will help us land a recruit?

Rhetorical? Passive-aggressive? I'll take the latter.

The star of the Isaiah Whitehead presser was unequivocally Tiny Morton...

hahahaha its all about Tiny Morton... Again I say IW got played by his own coach, and what was better for Tiny and his career not IW's development/career.

Probably a little of both but true.

So is Delgado back in play now that the guy who brought him there looks like he's being screwed over?

And Joe acting more hysterical than my 3-year-old daughter when she sees a bee really takes the cake. And I've seen a lot of stupid crap on this board.

More so, the latter considering the poster.

This whole reshuffling of coaching positions at Seton Hall smacks of a desperate head coach on the hot seat, pulling out all the stops to try to save his job

Ten percent of the reason I wanted Whitehead was championship-quality depth. The other 90 percent was because of your pledge to not complain for six months if we landed him.

Years ago the old St.John's School of Commerce had a course titled Procurement subsequently in a criminal law class discovered is was the legal term for pimping. Now it would appear we have a situation where we have both applying the the Hall acquired supplies and well Tiny did what.

I guess I am happy he is not coming here. I know he can score but he reminds me of Lance. We have players who like to play with each other and not just its about me. Add in Tiny who has proved his level on integrity by stealing hs kids from all over NY and basically holding schools hostage for his kids unless he gets his, we are better off without both of them. By the end of spring we will get ours, by the end of spring there will be a buzz about us and the buzz from the hall will be when they should fire Willard. Karma says Tiny will get what he deserves.

As far as Lavin, yes he was used. Thank god he had the integrity to slap tiny on his face and say no. Who on the staff would you have liked to cut to make room for the little weasel? Or do you think Tiny is a recruiting guru or a great X & O strategist. Many NY HS coaches would rather kick him off campus for how he has treated them during his tenure at Lincoln. We will get a better kid, maybe not as talented a scorer but a better kid. Give me a kid like Jordan every day.

He should have taken a recruiting trip to Oklahoma State. At least he would have gotten some action....

The whole recruiting landscape is foul. (Stating the obvious here). Last Saturday night, I was at the Purdue vs Notre Dame game. I had great seats...literally in row one, behind the ND bench. About 20 minutes before the game...a bunch of really tall guys come walking out of the tunnel down the sidelines. It was the Purdue basketball team. 10 minutes later...more basketball players. They were recruits being hosted on campus. They were accompanied by some very attractive girls. (Believe me, at Purdue that is a rare occurrence). All of this is of course legal...but it just smells.

Can I ask a serious question? Try hard to avoid insults as tempting as it may be...but at what point do some of you begin to question our offense? At what point do some of you begin to question Lavin? I seriously would not be shocked in the least if this was a happy board with tons of Lavin supporters even if we win 15 games this season. I'm just curious to know what it would take not to even be disappointed in, but to question the team, or coach's ability to win games.
