Isaiah Whitehead, SG (Seton Hall verbal)

Effect JaQuan Lyle's committing to Louisville has on IW?

They've now gotten commitments from 2 PGs and a SF, Lyle being the best of the bunch. Also the leaders I believe for Trey Lyles.

Not a lot of balls to go around there.

Does he join forces with them or does it push it down to a two team race with SJU and Cuse?

Wondering since we have not offered Khadeen Carrington . perhaps coach know we are sitting good with Whitehead???.

Whitehead is a tough battle.

Nike Skills Academy.

This Louisville commit sounds awfully similar to IW:

Quentin Snider, Class of 2014 (Ballard/Louisville, KY): A future Louisville Cardinal, Snider is an offensive threat on the floor. With a jump-shot that extends 20+ feet, Snider’s change of speed, change of direction ability created problems for opposing defenders. The combo-guard excelled around the rim as well, finishing with either hand on a consistent basis. Snider’s high basketball IQ was utilized as the lead guard, drawing multiple defenders and finding the open teammate for the easy score.

And here's IW:

Isaiah Whitehead, Class of 2014 (Abraham Lincoln/Brooklyn, NY): A highly-touted guard, Whitehead’s offensive arsenal was on full display throughout the day. At 6-4, 195 lbs., the rising senior proved capable of scoring in various fashions. With an improved perimeter jump-shot, the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim while finishing with contact, Whitehead is a threat on the offensive end of the floor. On defense, the rising senior’s athleticism allows for blocked-shot opportunities, as seen once again on Wednesday.

Oops, Cuse and Minnesota common schools on their list, guessing Minnesota;

“@Isaiah_W15: Me & My Bro @J_Newton20 Thinking Of A Master Plan All Imma Say Is #StayTuned

Jaquan Newton from Philly btw.

If it's Minny, then IW isn't as bright as I thought he was.

If it's Cuse, then both of them better not be looking for significant playing time.

I have confidence in Lavin to adjust accordingly regardless of this outcome.

Fwiw from Minny writer;

“@RyanJamesMN: Texted with Isaiah Whitehead and Ja'Quan Newton. Both said they plan to visit Minnesota but both not sure when. Likely August.”

In reference to..?

These kids and their chatter.
Much ado about nothing IMO

I agree for the most part, Moose. Although, it does and can happen (as, recently as Kyle Anderson and Shabazz Muhammad), it is usually idle chatter. Now, with the craze of social media (ie, Twitter, Facebook), then it's even more reason for highly-ranked kids talk about playing together in college. It creates attention and get fans giddy about the possible outcome.

There are more examples of it not happening I feel. Especially when your dealing with random players and not HS or AAU teammates.

I agree it happens far less than it does. Like I stated, it seems like it's mentioned more nowadays due to social media. It creates a craze (attention) amongst the fans of the schools involved.

“@jeffborzello: Are Isaiah Whitehead and Ja'Quan Newton really going to be a package deal? I dug around, also talked to Whitehead: http://cbsprt.co/11SUC0n

"While nothing looks imminent, a package deal between two of the better Northeast guards in the class of 2014 appears to be a strong possibility."

Too bad it's not in January.

My girlfriend and sister both visited Albany on a beautiful spring day. They were quite bitter come winter.

At UA Undeniable Camp;

“@JoshGershon: Isaiah Whitehead having his way with whoever is guarding him. Driving to basket, pulling up, creating for others and defending.”

Fwiw;
“@TheRecruitScoop: Ja'Quan Newton stepped up his scoring w/ a big performance. He & Isaiah Whitehead considering USC, Miami & Minnesota package deal. #PeachJam”
