In Season Tidbits

Just goes to show you, if you have major money like he does, if you speak up, you can get things done.
Actually I think he's still estranged from the program so his money wasn't a factor. The fact that he blew up the administration and exposed their meddling and incompetence as it related to the athletic department on a fairly major stage, however, seemed to get the admin to back away and let the person they paid to run the department do his job, one which they are painfully ill suited to do.
Granted, his money didn't sway the administration, but without the oodles of cash he has in his bank account he never would have gotten 20 minutes of airtime with Fatcesa in order to burn the house to the ground. Something tells me that "Mike from Middle Village" calling in that day wouldn't have been afforded the same opportunity or had the same impact... :cheer:

#SJUBB for making every minute on the court count by doing all the little things that go unnoticed to help the team win, even though you're not 100%. Lock down D, solid screens, in addition to support from the bench. ♥U
I'd rather hear an athlete has an ACL tear than back problems.
They're debilitating. They're often chronic. They're hard to treat.
Williams is probably playing through significant pain and stiffness that hampers all aspects of his game.
So give the kid a break and root hard for him.

With a chronic back injury, have to wonder if playing is hurting, more than helping in healing.

It would make my list of top St. John's moments. We needed it to completely change the direction of the program.

His public rant was, I believe, important in airing dirty laundry. The enclave that exists at SJU needed to be pushed into the light and exposed for the nonsense they have done for years. I think it was an important step that allowed Cragg to take his rightful role as AD a bit more. It would have been business as usual with the same know-nothing’s making dumb basketball decisions without utilizing proper resources who are equipped to do it, namely our AD.

Like most of us, I was frustrated during the seemingly chaotic coaching search. That said, the revelation that blows my mind is that just 10 days elapsed between Mullin's resignation (April 8th) and the hiring of Mike Anderson (April 18th).

Crazy, because it seemed like a heckuva lot longer from my computer screen.

It honestly seemed like two months. That's what I would have embarrassingly blurted out if asked, before doing some math in my head.

SJU has been stuck in the James Dolan mode of unsuccessful sports management. I'm looking forward to years of reasonable performance in our programs.

A bad back derailed Fred Lyson’s career as well.

And Don Mattingly.

Shamorie just made his NBA debut as he logged his first minutes, first points and first assist. He looked good out there.

A lot of St. John's mentions on the broadcast, since they were playing the Knicks.

...and yet Lou continued to play him over the more talented Rowan Barrett (which may be why we didn't get his legacy recruit-being facetious).

Quas still had a great career...until the very end.

Tidbit, remember when Matt A at SJ was heading to Japan to see a kid. Well he landed him;

Japanese combo guard Keisei Tominaga has committed to Fred Hoiberg and Nebraska in the class of 2021, a source told ESPN. The BWB and FIBA U18 national team alum is an elite shooter, averaging 18 ppg while making over 50% of his 3-pointers on the season for Ranger CC.
