In Season Tidbits
Seems like Samir Doughty was a STJ recruit 10 years ago. He's been on all the shows today after a killer crossover against Colgate last night. He is also the top scorer on a top 20 team averaging almost 19 ppg with fantastic shooting numbers. Good things come to those who wait until they're 30 to shine I guess.
Wasn't Doughty a Lavin recruit? Lol

Yes, Tony Chiles led effort

I think he committed to us. But obviously had academic problems and I think that was year Lavin was fired.

For those who enjoy stats, I thought these two interactive charts were pretty interesting. The first shows how much each team relies on each player for offense. The second shows average game score in relation to minutes per game. Pretty interesting to see how our players compare to each other.

Not sure how well you can see on mobile so I would suggest using desktop. You can use the drop down menus on the side to narrow it down by conference and team

DLO's game looking good in that clip. Kid continues to love the game and it shows. Hope he makes good money.
Cragg interview
Very worthwhile to watch. Listening to Mike Cragg it just confirmed for me that the Program and all of the athletic department at St. John’s is in competent hands. Look forward to seeing how things go as he further implements his vision.

He’s the right guy for this job. He certainly has his finger on the pulse of everything the fans want this program and athletic department to be.

Don't post much or have the BBall IQ posters have on here. I have been able to catch 2 games we played this year and am very happy with coach Anderson. To be honest SJU doesn't deserve him (but the fans and players do). You can tell from how he carries himself that he has structure and is able to get the best out of a player. I think the team will finish over .500 when things are said and done this year.

I'm reserving judgement on Cragg until we see more. He certainly says all the right things, but I am somewhat troubled by the fact that he offered Porter Moser the job before even reaching out to Anderson. I also don't think he should have jacked up season ticket prices this year at the beginning of a significant rebuild. We'll see how the attendance is at MSG. In any event, hope it all works out, but I'm not ready to deify the guy just yet.

Cragg hired the guy who wasn't being forced upon him.

Yeah... wasn't the whole thing that the President/VP wanted Moser and the Yale coach, but Cragg wasn't on board? My understanding is that Cragg is the only reason we lucked out with CMA and didn't hire a mid-major coach with limited accomplishments.

That's my recollection as well. Cragg supposedly wanted Cluess, and the others offered Moser. Can't remember if it was a news report or if someone with access posted it here, but I believe that part of the reason Moser turned us down was that he didn't think the AD wanted him.

Yep, exactly.

Moser/Loyola are currently 3-4 and haven't played anyone in the top 100. Just another lighting in a bottle mid-major coach/team never to be heard from again.

Loyola also blew a 16 point lead, losing to Colorado St last night.

Cragg was allowed to get his guy only after Mike Repole' s interview with Mike from what I recall.
