In Season Tidbits

Our only hope may be to stap Earlington into a stretching machine to get another couple of inches out of him. Or some quick acting HGH.

Both will blossom in coming seasons and hopefully like recruits will join them to get program on positive path. I trust no one knows that better than CMA.
Agree with this and after seeing some conference games I feel confident adding Earlington to this list.
I believe Earlington is the brightest piece we have. The kid was a part time basketball player until last year. He is getting better game by game and even showed off the jump shot he has been working on last game.

No one in the program has grown more then Earlington over the last 12 months.
Frankly, surprised to hear this coming from you...

:)

Agree that Earlington is pleasant surprise...don’t think he is the centerpiece that you see but think there is one aspect of his game that some of our other players could use — his confidence.

Hahahahahahha. Listen, I dont know if he will be a centerpiece. But to start the season, he was just a garbage man. He cleaned up everyones misses and got some cheap points. But last game, from the right hand side of the court he crossed his man up and finished with a nice lefty reverse. Then the drive and pull from the foul line for the and 1. Then we got a nice jumper from him in the corner with time winding down.

I just feel like he is the one guy I am seeing progress from as the season goes. Williams is improving a little too as well as dunn.

Gotta give credit to the photographer - Duke of Earlington
Interesting that each game after the Butler opener our opponents have had a longer time in between games to prep. Trend continues this Wednesday vs Providence. Prep obviously matters and 4 games in a row to start conference play is a little bit strange.

Vs Xavier
- 5 days between games vs our 4

Vs Georgetown
- 4 days between games vs our 2

Va DePaul
- 6 days between games vs our 2

Vs Providence.
- 4 days between games vs our 3

We’ll have an even # of days off vs our next two after that vs the Hall and Marquette and we get our first advantage in the 8th game of the conference season against DePaul. Just something I thought was interesting.

*just looked ahead and only twice all conference season do we have an advantage in days off in between games. @DePaul and @ seton hall.
To add to this, we are the only BE team to play back to back road games twice in the first 8 conference games.

We are 1 of only 3 teams to not have back to back home games within the first 8 conference games.

Hopefully our depth, and the weird schedule we have will allow for us to have a solid second half of league play. IMO we played well enough to beat top two teams in league and did not capitalize. The 1-5 looks worse than it actually is.

Wish we had Justin to check Howard tomorrow night. His length and quickness really bothered Howard.

Good for Malik. I see he had 31 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks against Albany on Saturday. Looks like he has found the right team and level of play in his senior and may even make the dance. He was one of Mullin's first commits out of HS; a good kid who had good moments with us but was just a little over his head in the BE.
