Who wants to start up a GoFundMe page for this kid? LOL[/quote]

Moot that he is or isn't coming? Based on your prior posts means he is coming but just want to be sure.

Rope that Steere! Would be amazing to go into next season knowing we actually have 2 big guys, maybe even more if we can figure a way to land Kofi...

Holy mackerel, this kid looks super talented in the video. Can shoot it from outside but big inside presence, post game and shot blocking. He'd be a super pickup. Looks like NC State is going to play one big at a time and he's a bit behind grad transfer Wally Walker & Soph Funderburk. Fingers crossed we get a commitment this weekend and get him in class second semester.

Forget Kofi if they land Steere. Matt won't waste his time imo dealing with his advisors only to strike out.
Precious however seems in play subject to a successful SJU season is my sense.

Even though I was the one who posted the highlight video I would say that you can never judge a player too much by a highlight video. You have to take the video in the context of the talent of the players around him and the editing skills of who puts the video together. I know that last year I was off the charts excited about the highlight video of our former commit J'Raan Brooks but he has not exploded on the scene at USC as of yet. (see below)

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/gamelog/_/id/4397141/jraan-brooks

Brooks was injured slowing his acclimation and is working his way back into the rotation. That said his rebounding numbers suck so far. Would have fit right in.

And while I'm happy to see Steere transfer in, this guy could only get 5 minutes from Keatts in a 50 point win in his one game. He's also practicing against Sasha Killeya Jones from Kentucky who will be active next year so he likely saw the writing on the wall. Again, expecting too much from him already is dangerous, especially for STJ fans.

Agree. There is a difference between being talented and being productive on the court.

Fair enough Ghostzapper. Have to confess I'm susceptible to grasping for any good news today after the deflating news on Keita's injury. :)

Yep, there's a reason why he's a 3star.

Not necessarily, these ratings services are not the greatest at rating players. Example-Bama DT Quinnen Williams was a 3 star and is only a redshirt soph who barely played last season and now Mel Kiper has him projected #2 overall draft pick in the upcoming draft. That said it is an impossible job sometimes to project a player on the next level from HS to college and college to pro. Look at all the so called draft busts vs great low draft or undrafted players. This kid looks good to me and at worst is a big physical presence that every team can use.

Low hanging fruit, with not too many interior kids anxious to come here at this point.

Who knows, if The Cragginator gets involved, maybe there will actually be a coach on the staff next year that can develop bigs.

Look he is a big body that will help us when we go against big teams ,he moves we’ll shoots good for a big man , can go to the hoop block shots play some D if he can neutralize some other teams centers give us 10 pets per game with 8-10 boards we are a ncaa teams and at least 20+ wins. We have the talent that we can do well with a3* we do not need a 4* center hope he comes on board

If he comes on board, once he becomes eligible, he will not be playing with many of our current players.

Nice Bama
Talent evaluation...hmmn...highly subjective!
AND there are countless examples of high rated busts and low rated success stories in every sport - I believe Tom Brady was drafted out of the first round AND I know Don Mattingly and Andy Pettite were drafted very low.

Meant at “this point”, meaning available high school bigs. Not many out there. I already referenced my read on Kofi. Next season, Keita, Steere & hopefully a developing Roberts may suffice. If not, they could also look at Juco prospects or a big player who breaks a commitment for example. I was not in any way commenting on Mullin’s style of play having an effect on attracting big men.

Definitely not a rebuild if Heron, Ponds and obviously Clark leave and things fall into place. Not as bleak as some on here make it seem after this year.
