That said his rebounding numbers suck so far. Would have fit right in.
And while I'm happy to see Steere transfer in, this guy could only get 5 minutes from Keatts in a 50 point win in his one game. He's also practicing against Sasha Killeya Jones from Kentucky who will be active next year so he likely saw the writing on the wall. Again, expecting too much from him already is dangerous, especially for STJ fans.
Yep, there's a reason why he's a 3star.
Not necessarily, these ratings services are not the greatest at rating players. Example-Bama DT Quinnen Williams was a 3 star and is only a redshirt soph who barely played last season and now Mel Kiper has him projected #2 overall draft pick in the upcoming draft. That said it is an impossible job sometimes to project a player on the next level from HS to college and college to pro. Look at all the so called draft busts vs great low draft or undrafted players. This kid looks good to me and at worst is a big physical presence that every team can use.
Low hanging fruit, with not too many interior kids anxious to come here at this point.
That statement is troubling. Interior kids would get plenty of burn. What is the reason that bigs don’t want to come here, is it Mullins style?
Meant at “this point”, meaning available high school bigs. Not many out there. I already referenced my read on Kofi. Next season, Keita, Steere & hopefully a developing Roberts may suffice. If not, they could also look at Juco prospects or a big player who breaks a commitment for example. I was not in any way commenting on Mullin’s style of play having an effect on attracting big men.
