No surprise. the Laker offer of 12.5M was a slap on the face for a coach like Hurley to make such a drastic move. Had to offer 20M/year for him to even consider.

Great news for the Big East!!!!!!

Now lets get back to talking about how we can finish 2nd in the big east and make a nice tourney run this year!

they can have their fun for now, he'll be the knicks coach in a few years imo. The NBA is a clear desire of his based on how much he weighed this offer. Given his background... the Knicks are the perfect spot for him in the pros.

He didnt weigh the offer at all. He played the game.

Lakers at 11.6M isnt even a serious offer. They would have had to go to 20M/year for him to even consider taking that awful job.

I know nba jobs are never more safe than a bad year and a half, but the Knicks got a good coach.

Oh no way! Hurley cannot be Knicks coach. Ever. It would be impossible to watch Knicks games wearing a hazmat suit.

I disagree, I have listened to Danny guest on several podcasts. My opinion based on what I have heard from him, is the NBA is something he wants to do. Even if now isn't the time, I think it is part of his plans.

I do know this too. The timeline I have in my head is 2-3 years. Either the knicks get over the hump and Thibs is a legend, or we look to move on after a few more playoff exits. We will see how everything plays out.
 
Thibs isn't going anywhere. His longtime agent runs the team and he's known Brunson since he was a kid. It would have to be a really epic breakdown these next couple years for him to go.

I think if Jay ever coaches again it’s his group there and has good relationship with Leon Rose. If Danny wants to coach in NBA it’s probably the Nets.
