Posh definitely cucked a few of you dudes.
No, I will not give it up because I refuse to let this opinion that Posh wouldn't have made a difference for us go unopposed. Funny, I mentioned nothing about a Stockton or a Mark Jackson. ALL I said in my previous post was that that he is a guard we can put on opposing guards who are killing us. He can bother them. And I also snidely mentioned how a player like Posh would actually fit perfect in a system like Pitino's where he has one guard pick up the ball handler full court. You think Posh couldn't help in that role?Jack , give it up . Posh is a Butler player and our opponent .
Sure , Posh was a Crowd pleaser for a good portion of his time here but , you ,, like many are forgetting he was pretty much a non contributor last year and seemed to deteriorate from his great 1st year .
You are making him out to be John Stockton or , Mark Jackson . He was neither
So this sentence is the only actual rebuttal to my argument. I bring up how his defensive toughness is would help us, your answer is that he is an overrated defender. I cannot stop you from feeling that way. But frankly, I think that is wrong. And I think your attempt to downplay his steal numbers make me chuckle, cause boy do I wish we had a guard who was capable of poking the ball away from Oduro the other night? Don't you?And , a woeful shooter . His defense ? Over rated . He does steal the ball but , mostly against the Bigs down low as he is good at slapping the ball out of their hands .
I never made the case Posh was mistake free on defense. However, I watched him for three years and I continue to watch him on Butler this year. You can count up all his deficiencies if you would like, the truth is he would be our best and toughest perimeter defender by a LOT. He would be our best pressing guard in Pitino's system... by A LOT. That is just a cold hard fact. Chase it down however you like, but it is true. Which is why I feel you and Ray Morgan are wrong on this topic when you so willfully dismiss what his impact could have been.He had a lot of trouble staying with 6 ‘3” BE guards that were faster and quicker . Your forgetting how many times they blew past him
So for me to push back on the idea that Posh wouldn't have helped this year, I have to also list every good guard St. John's has ever had? Come on. Never said Posh was better than a Shamorie or D'Angelo or Dwight..... but notice he's the only guy on this list still playing college ball. Hence why he's a topic of discussion. And , if you want to continue wishing about Guards we miss , start with Ponds . He was a impact player , Scorer , a Swiss Army knife tool of a player . Posh isn’t in that category .
Another point that is irrelevant to the argument that Posh would help with our perimeter defense/toughness. I never made the case that having Posh is some magical potion that turns close losses into wins. What I am saying is that some of these outcomes could have been different if we had personnel (like Posh) that could have been deployed by Rick to slow down opposing guards. Thats what my argument is and saying we lost games with Posh before does not take away from my point at allUhm, did we not lose close games when he was here? I know we lost some blowouts but I am sure they were a few close games there and some blown leads.
She's be KINGwhat if the queen had balls?
He had a great game against Nova/Gillespe and a solid freshman year. He clearly regressed after that. Y’all talk about body language all the time, his was terrible at times, and he helmed a very mediocre St. John’s team…so I remember him for being a former SJU player, thank him for his time here but I don’t waste time thinking about him on this year’s roster because he wouldn’t make a difference.Posh definitely cucked a few of you dudes.

Because of what Wusu allegedly did prior to leavingWhy don’t I see Wusu ever get the same type of love Posh gets?
Wow what started as an interesting topic devolved into the umpteenth referendums on Posh and Jenkins. I’ll throw in WHAT IF ERNIE GRUNFELD transferred in from Tennessee as was rumored when I was a student at St. John's.
I know how you feel about this so we’ll agree to disagree. I’m not comparing what Wusu did to anything Alexander did but Posh was disciplined more than once in his time here iirc. This is a genuine question because I don’t remember but was Wusu ever suspended by the coach for that alleged incident?disagree

May you die on that hill!
ive never backed down from a posh debate in my life i aint starting today
The way some of these guys pine over and over for Posh, reminds me of the way some guys pine for the ugly broads who dumped them. What if no one talked about Posh Alexander??
Christ, easily the most annoying topic on this entire forum. No offense to the player himself, but holding a candle for such a “just another guy” is literally insane and shows what we’ve become.
40 months of hell. The way some of these guys pine over and over for Posh, reminds me of the way some guys pine for the ugly broads who dumped them.
In my defense, she had huge ti . . . um, I mean Yeah, those guys are losers! The way some of these guys pine over and over for Posh, reminds me of the way some guys pine for the ugly broads who dumped them.
He also missed their biggest win. So he’s 6-7. And we’re 1-0 against him. Loved Posh, let’s not forget he was playing 30 minutes a game as primary defender for one of the worst defenses we’ve ever had last year.Posh’s team is tied for 5th place. We’re 9th.
