Damn, that looks tasty! Gathering it’s ‘local’ lobster?
I forgot to ask where they import the lobster from but the bread they import from Gambinos in New Orleans. The bread is what they use for Po Boys. The bread was delicious. I forget the spices they used but it was excellent. Anything with a 9 claw rating or above is rarified air in my world of lobster rolls. And 7 is solid too but 9's are for the special ones
Wow, you’ve sold me Mike. A son lives in Denver area. I’ll sample that when I get there. Thanks man!
Cool. Also if you guys like kind of American comfort food and are in Lodo go to Urban Farmer. Excellent place

And if you need a good strip club go to Shotgun Willies ( I didnt go there this time but last time it was awesome. lol )
Lol. Thanks. You should write a Travel-Log!

Lobster rolls are becoming so ubiquitous, they were serving them at Churchill Downs for both the Kentucky Oaks and Derby days. Nothing fancy, it was really just nice pieces of lobster served on a bun. Like in Denver, the lobster clearly had to be shipped in from somewhere, likely Maine. I have read recently that they are starting to worry about Lobster shortages (likely due to combination of global warming and too many lobster rolls!). I grew up spending a couple of weeks every summer vacationing in Newport as my Dad was born there and we ate steamed lobsters at least once or twice every trip. Miss those days, rarely get to eat a whole lobster anymore.

God only knows what I'm going to eat at the ballpark tonight. I'm hoping they have some crazy food like Houston. The ice cream waffle cone thing stuffed with mashed potatoes and chicken nuggets with honey mustard on top still goes down as an all time favorite for me at an astro game. I dont care as much about regular food like hot dogs and burgers at games. I like to try the whacked out food

Yeah lobster shortage is a National Clawtastrophe

How was the Kentucky Derby ? That's a bucket list thing for me. We try to go to the Belmont Stakes each year. Lot of fun. Belmont is also fun just on regular days when we go with the 114 guys

I think Alaska Pollock is, in some cases, used as ‘substitute’ lobster meat. But, of course, MJM—our resident lobster roll aficionado —would never succumb to such a scam!

Saratoga is the place to be in the summer, no better racing then there. The Wishing Well and Mama Mia's restaurant are my favorites.

Only reason there would be lobster shortages is because too much being sold to the Chinese... they pay the highest price and tons goes overseas...

National Clawtastrophe - I love it.
The Derby was also a bucket list item for me and it was great despite being the wettest Derby in over 100 years. Went with my wife and a buddy and his wife and stayed in a nice house a young couple rented out through AirBNB for the weekend. Best part about the Derby is the wives had a great time too as they loved the pageantry and all the elaborate dresses and hats. We used to go to Belmont too but my wife was never thrilled about going as she's not a horseplayer. The Derby is like the world's biggest party so the women are happy buying souvenirs, people watching and having a cocktail while we were busy betting and having a few beers (and a lobster roll). The Oaks was Friday, good weather and we won. We gave it all back and more on Derby day, but it was a great time. We may try to do it again in a few years. Highly recommended; Louisville is a cool town and easy to fly in and out of.

Spent some time talking to him and he remembered Brian from when we saw him there last year. Both were up money at the time :)

Yes, Jack so I have heard. I almost made it there on a couple of occasions but for one reason or another never got there all the years we were living in NY and New Jersey. Maybe one day.

Not that anyone would go out of their way to come to Staten Island but if you are passing through, try a place by the Outerbridge called Project Brunch. Limited seating and they close at 3 but I had a spiritual experience with the sandwich I had there. They have these 'waffle' sandwiches. I had their version of a reuben where the waffle was made out of the guts of a potato kinish. Inside was homemade pastrami smoked perfectly. The kraut they made was just spicy enough and ohhh the homemade grain mustard. My kids sat across from me and I finished the sandwich before the waitress was back with the next dish. The horrified look they had on their faces seeing me eat what seemed to be my last meal ever. Speechless is a rarity for them. Didn't even use a napkin. The waitress brought me a towel.. and all she said was 'i don't blame you'.

Top 10 sandwich I had recently was from Gott's out in SF.. had the tuna burger.. holy criminy.

You don't get up there nearly enough? How could you have the time you are all over the world. Thought my brother-in-law traveled a lot and he has his own jet.

They are shooting nightly news here tonight in front of Union Station. To add further to the irony he sold his truck years ago to my old assistant who whose husband used to be his driver for nbc

Mike, as you know, AA is a very nice guy. He’s hoping to play in Italy. I wished him well and told him 114 fans appreciated his effort and how he supported his team.

The guy has a lot going for him with his outgoing personality. I think he has a great future - better than most graduates.

And yeah, he seemed to enjoy Belmont.

Also - Saratoga has nothing over Belmont besides it’s close proximity to the Malta Diner.

Very disappointed in the bratwurst stuffed with bacon and cheddar cheese at coors field. They should have wrapped it in bacon. I know I’m going to regret this one tomorrow morning

Surely you jest regarding Belmont and Saratoga.
