Mike, as you know, AA is a very nice guy. He’s hoping to play in Italy. I wished him well and told him 114 fans appreciated his effort and how he supported his team.

The guy has a lot going for him with his outgoing personality. I think he has a great future - better than most graduates.

And yeah, he seemed to enjoy Belmont.

Also - Saratoga has nothing over Belmont besides it’s close proximity to the Malta Diner.
Surely you jest regarding Belmont and Saratoga.
I prefer Belmont. But when I visit the Malta Diner I stop by that upstate track. It's OK when you can tune out the lake George crowd.

AA was truly one of the nicest and friendliest players ever at St. John's. I'm rooting for him to make a team in Europe.

I think you will be seeing many more St. John's fans at Belmont in the future. Wait until the new Nets arena is built. It may serve as a 3rd home for the redmen.

Damn, that looks tasty! Gathering it’s ‘local’ lobster?

I forgot to ask where they import the lobster from but the bread they import from Gambinos in New Orleans. The bread is what they use for Po Boys. The bread was delicious. I forget the spices they used but it was excellent. Anything with a 9 claw rating or above is rarified air in my world of lobster rolls. And 7 is solid too but 9's are for the special ones

Wow, you’ve sold me Mike. A son lives in Denver area. I’ll sample that when I get there. Thanks man!

Lobster rolls are becoming so ubiquitous, they were serving them at Churchill Downs for both the Kentucky Oaks and Derby days. Nothing fancy, it was really just nice pieces of lobster served on a bun. Like in Denver, the lobster clearly had to be shipped in from somewhere, likely Maine. I have read recently that they are starting to worry about Lobster shortages (likely due to combination of global warming and too many lobster rolls!). I grew up spending a couple of weeks every summer vacationing in Newport as my Dad was born there and we ate steamed lobsters at least once or twice every trip. Miss those days, rarely get to eat a whole lobster anymore.
I think Alaska Pollock is, in some cases, used as ‘substitute’ lobster meat. But, of course, MJM—our resident lobster roll aficionado —would never succumb to such a scam!
NEVER !!!!
Lol knew that!

The new Islanders Arena will be 15 minutes down the Grand Central from campus. Closer to SJU than DePaul's downtown Chicago arena. Many Queens and Long Island fans will also love the easy commute. As long as we don't continue to trend downward the playing options will be many in the future.

The Islander arena will probably be less expensive then MSG , not a bad idea for intermediate sized crowds.

Since this thread covers anything and everything here is funny story. I'm flying back from Denver today wearing my SJU hat and 2 hours into the flight I ask the guy on the aisle if he can get up so I can go to the bathroom. He decides to go as well and as we are waiting on the line at the back of the plane he sees my hat and says " some tough times for the Johnnies " we end up talking hoops when I get back to my seat and biz as we were both out there for business meetings. Long story short he asks where I live and I tell him huntington. Turns out he grew up in the town next to huntington. He's younger than me and so I ask him if he knows our very own Gman. ( real name withheld ). Ironically he went to school with him and the guys wife is real close friends with my close friends 5 houses from me :) Small Small World

Did he know of the boards?
Not sure. When I asked him if he knew Gman he asked me how I knew him because I had already mentioned that I grew up in Glen Cove not Huntington and told him I've been friends with Gman through a St Johns baskeball fan website for 20 years.but didnt mention redmen because when we were talking hoops as far as SJU he seemed to be more of a casual SJU fan although he did know about Wally Szczerbiak doing the SJU game ( Butler I think it was ) because he knows both them from Cold Spring Harbor days

Was at a wedding

Ok this is real weird but this morning on the today show I heard Yannie and now I hear Laurel

I heard Yanni numerous times on my iphone. Then I heard Laurel on my iPad. Went back to the phone and heard Laurel. Now I only hear Laurel.

Not sure what I was thinking but ordered the lobster roll from Finley’s in Huntington and it was a Clawtastrophe. You gotta have good bread but if their goal was to have a thick ass almost pretzel like bun so thick and dry the sole aim was to force you to drink a 2nd glass of beer just to swallow it then they succeeded in extracting that next 8 bucks out of me. 6 claw rating and the only reason they get that much is because they had 4 different IPAs on tap
