Have had the one from Lunch,Duryea's,Bostwicks and the seafood shop ( ljsa told me about the seafood shop ). Also had Canal Cafe and the clam bar.

Have to try Silvers and the corner bar. I haven't had those. Thanks.

We just had 2 tonight. Kingfish in Westbury.
I love the Corner Bar, although I've only had the burger in the 25 or so times I've been in there since childhood. Just go easy on the bar part because for a small town, the cops are everywhere.

Bill cane out more than I thought it would and I didn’t notice the other food prices because I knew what we wanted. Desserts were ok but not great. Wouldn’t order them again but the place is nice inside and I’d go back for lobster rolls

Ok some questions for all the Euro travelers. Porgyman Knight Gman etc and anyone else with recommendations

Just booked flights for Oktoberfest. Then travel other parts of Europe. Our plan is Munich for 3 days meet bunch of friends for Oktoberfest then to Berlin then to Prague then down to Vienna ( then to Slovakia Bratislava for a day-Porgyman idea ) then over to Innsbruk or Tirol because we have friends there then back to Munich to catch flight home. In total 17 full days not including the flying in and out days

So bunch of questions for anyone that has any answers. For anyone that's been to any of these cities other than Munich how many days is a good amount in each city ? What's the easiest way to travel between these cities ? Train or flying ? Was thinking flying but we dont mind the train and then you can see the countrysides.

Any particular areas to stay in for each city ? Munich we will do hotel but we love airbnb also so if the other cities have good airbnbs in nice sections where locals live we are totally up for that

What activités does anyone recommend for any of these cities ? anything a must see ?

Now most importantly --- Restaurants and bars !! Also any particular food in each country you thought was a must try ?

Porgyman we are going to take your advice on the cruise from Vienna to Bratislava. Was thinking of doing an overnight there but why bother when we are already in Vienna. Too much moving around for a day or 2

Panther, I have family in Rome and my cousin in the pharmaceutical business who entertains a lot with clients.  The most "Roman" restaurants are in the Trastevere quarter.  It is west of the Tiber and a few blocks south of the Vatican.  Here are 3 places me and my family have been to that are excellent and very reasonably priced.

Pasta e Vino Osteria
Via della Pelliccia
Tel. 39 06 583 6863

Nannarella
Piazza di San Calisto 7A,
Tel 39 06 581 5378

Cajo e Gajo
10 Piazza San Callisto, Rome tel. 06 581 8256

Not in Trastevere but near city-center and very expensive:

ARMANDO AL PANTHEON
Traditional trattoria next to the Pantheon

LA PERGOLA
High-end gourmet near the Vatican
My wife and I are taking a cruise of Greece for our anniversary the last week of August. We fly to Rome where we board the ship and then stop at the following places in Greece: Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, and Katakolon. We spend two nights in Rome before the cruise begins.

If anyone has recommendations for restaurants in Rome or things to do at the stops in Greece I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks
Very biased but Greece is the most beautiful country in the world, have an awesome trip!

Santorini walk around Fira which is the main town with tons of shops + great nightlife. I highly recommend going to Oia during sunset for the best sunset you’ll ever see and then eat dinner in Ammoudi Bay (believe Dimitris is the best restaurant down there but look into that).

Mykonos is where my wife and I were married last year so definitely a special place. Agios Ioannis has some very nice beaches and a quick boat trip to Delos is worthwhile. Definitely take a trip to town to see the windmills/little Venice. Again the town has incredible nightlife.

Very jealous of this trip have an awesome time! Rome is probably the best city I’ve ever visited so you’re hitting some personal favorites!

Mike-Vienna is a great city for classical music, museums and food. How many days do you have? If you visit Salzburg lots of castles to see. Alps are amazing!

About 2 hours from Munich. How far away is Salzburg ?

Salzburg about 90 minutes from Munich.
Murnau is a nice small friendly town in Bavaria. The beer is amazing! Good place to decompress.

"No state does lobster quite like Maine. Rockland has been hosting the Maine Lobster Festival since 1947, a five-day extravaganza that delights locals and visitors alike. You’ll find the world’s greatest lobster cooker, witness the coronation of the sea goddess and cheer on the participants of the international crate race. On top of all that, there’s plenty of entertainment, arts and crafts and, of course, cooking contests."
