HOLY CROSS, Sat., Nov. 25, 7p, FS-2

I didn't get a chance to read the whole gamethread, but pretty cool that Kevin Durant was courtside at the game. Based on quotes the players seemed excited. The Pitino star factor at work.
His agent is a big sju fan, and NYer. They had something going on LI and stopped at CA to catch a good chunk of game. Suns play Knicks today.

Edit: Sorry missed earlier response with press SJU release about Boardroom. A much better post than mine.

Great meeting redstormnc in Charleston!

No alum/degree.

Interesting career

Last night was glorious....great to see the old hall really rocking again! At the odd moment I asked myself the question that never comes up when we're firing on all cylinders. Who really is the leader of this team? When things started to disintegrate at the Michigan game, for instance, it seemed like there was no-one to call everyone together and say "Let's stop the bleeding now." Has that person emerged?

Michigan thread 53 pages. Dayton thread 35 pages.

Utah thread 24. Holy cross 14.

Guess it’s more fun to trash us than enjoy us. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
Vegas had us as 25 point favorites heading into this game, so if you’re looking for the same level of engagement as with Michigan or Dayton, you’re going to be disappointed. Nice win all the same and very excited to see Luis out there.

Oh I know that about overall engagement especially with the casual fan. But this site isn’t the casual fan and you can bet your house on it if we won by 10 or less this thread would be up to 60 pages by now.

Luis as good as advertised. Forget that it was against HC. His ability to create off the dribble and nose for the ball off missed shots, gives us a third legit scorer to go along with Joel and Dingle.

I really don’t think that’s a fair post. The Michigan outcome was totally unexpected, was the first real test of the season etc. The outcome of the HC game was expected.

I can turn it right back around on you that the Utah game was an unexpected outcome as we were 4-6 point dogs and aside from a couple of people nobody expected us to win and that included the fans on this site.

After breaking him down early on, Pitino is slowly building Wilcher back up, preparing him for big East play. If you’re Wilcher how can you not love this?

I think his biggest leap will be getting to the basket. He’s a little hesitant when he beats his man and dribbles into help. That will come and that’s what turns him into an elite player.

Ex: Watching how Dingle beats the help or recognizing it, pulls up for a jumper

Run the table for remaining OOC schedule, get off to solid BE start for a change, battle their way w a few upsets, finish at middle of pack status, win a game or two in BET, Dance & win one > very positive season & foundation for sustained success.

OOC thx to Rick starting in 2024 will be consistently strong and beneficial to Dance aspirations, recruiting & national recognition.

Think back a year ago & enjoy the ride.

It’s early, but Taylor is at 50 percent from three and his shot looks good. I understand that is not sustainable, but the overall competition he has faced has been solid. If he can bury open threes he becomes one hell of a player.

He was advertised as purely a slasher.

I love Taylor so far. Seeing him and now Luis are the main reasons I’ve become a little more optimistic about this team since the Michigan loss. I didn’t realize how versatile both of them are. You can play them as guards or fowards. They can both guard 1-4. They can both get points around the bucket and Taylor has also been deadly from deep (will be interesting to see if Luis can be effective from 3) It just unlocks a lot of different lineups. It feels easier to keep your best guys on the floor when 2 of them can be moved around a little more like chess pieces. I love having a couple guys in this mold.

While that is a potential distinction and I have no doubt it contributed to it…

Michigan was a Monday night. Dayton a Friday afternoon.

Utah a Sunday afternoon in the midst of football season. Holy cross a Saturday night thanksgiving weekend.

It’s also potentially impacted by our posters having weekend plans (or maybe they switch to the giants message boards on weekends to get their fill of complaints)

I guess if you can't trash the team...you can trash the fan base.
