Chris Mullin said he sat 3 starters because of a "coach's decision." Per Braziller

Chris Mullin says he accomplished what he wanted to do by sitting the three starters. #sjubb

Would not elaborate naturally. Not a big deal really.

Can we get all the Redman.comers identified ?! It would be great to know , who is who and put a face to the posts . It’s good for all of us .

That's a good looking bunch of Redmen supporters![/quote]

I actually love watching this team. When they are playing well offensively they are a joy to watch - great interior passing and such talent with top 5. They stepped it up defensively in second half. This was a good test for them and they passed. A full week to work on defensive intensity/closeouts before Wagner game.
BTW, VCU played Virginia petty tough today; lost by 8 but were up by 3 midway through 2nd half.

9 & 0! and btw i think Mullin did a very good job of making half time adjustments today, Mullin cant control when the kids lose lake of focus!

I didn't think it was that bad of a game. We were up by 19. Can't blame Mullin for giving guys some rest at that point. We're always asking him to give bench guys more minutes. Seems like Williams is coming along nicely. We should be 9-0, and we are. At least we haven't been upset by inferior teams like in the past. Maybe we aren't blowing other teams out of the water, but the important thing is the W. Let's win the next 3, hopefully get Keita back and start the conference schedule.

...and well he shouldn’t, in this day and age of social media, we don’t need to know everytime someone scratches their arse

Of course there’s bitching in this thread. Why should I expect anything else?

I thought that was a fun game. That kind of game perfectly suits our roster. If it weren’t for that Cennedy kid or whatever the hell his name is we would have blown them out.

We passed the ball around the best we’ve done all season and penetrated to the basket with relative ease because of it. Also, nice to take a punch in the face towards the end of the game and respond accordingly. You guys keep worrying about who we’re playing in a month, just worry about today. You people are nuts. I think we’ll be a little more ready for those games than some of you think.

Jack Williams is a fraud. He was mumbling Islamic jihadist chants in Arabic. Something about death to fun. I took it as him not liking humor but I could be wrong. Plus he's about 28 obviously. His real name is Salam Abdul Aziz Khan and he is from Afghanistan

Visiting daughter In NC so not available on TV
Having neither watched nor heard the game - followed it on iPhone
Can someone please elaborate on what the three starters not starting was all about?
Thanks

Good game regardless of what the whiners want to complain about today.

The offense is so good it sometimes works against this team. They don't have to defend and hit the offensive glass for more than 12 minutes or so in the second half. When they get going, though, it's very effective. I don't how much of that is conserving energy since we essentially only play seven guys and how much of it is the team not feeling a sense of urgency. I suspect we'll have to learn that lesson the hard way...perhaps more than once.

VCU was up @ #4 Virginia late before falling 57-49. They have now held Virginia to 57, Texas to 53, and Temple to 51 all away from home. They haven't given up more than 62 in a game except for the 87 we hung on them. That should tell you all you need to know about our offensive potential.

9-0

The offense is playing really well. All metrics are strong. Assist and TOs numbers have been really good and that's indicative of a system that, while I don't like it, is working. (TOs a little high today against a bad team but stuff happens). If they can keep that up against good competition that'll be a start. I'm still concerned about interior play on both ends and rebounding against good teams but for now . . . . just win baby.

We actually had a nice inside game today. Poor D first half , but adjusted 2nd half. Seems like Mullin is set on a 7 man rotation until Keita returns and is interested in giving Trimble and Dixon minutes . Trimble had 4 rebounds today.

Still some rough spots with defense and rebounding. Still 8-0 and rolling. I’ll take it. Gotta tighten this stuff up incrementally.

I love giving Trimble, Williams and Dixon minutes. We need that depth and they all provide us a benefit off the bench. That said, I don’t want to see Mullin put em all in at the same time ever again. We need all 3 to get comfortable out there to have contributing depth this season.
