Heron Officially Cleared Per SJU Press release

“I’m incredibly thankful that the NCAA has decided to allow me to play right away closer to home,” said Heron, a native of Waterbury, Conn. “I would like to thank all of the staff at St. John’s that fought to make this a possibility for me and my family.”

I personally think sweet sixteen is too low a legitimate expectation as he says.
Let’s stay grounded :)
Na. I wanna enjoy the fun potential before during and after it happens. And IF it doesn't happen I never expected it. Lol. In all seriousness really looking forward to watching this team.

This is great news, and I think a run to the sweet 16 is a legitimate possibility. Was already looking forward to the season, now I really can't wait!

Roster, lot of moving pieces obviously, but;

Really formidable team. Don't want to put a lot of pressure on him, but if Keita adds rebounding and defense, and some inside scoring, I wouldn't want to be the other guy.

Wow. This is awesome. Can proudly say I'm genuinely happy and excited for St. John's basketball, for a change. Lets get it!

This announcement and this player puts a strong wind into the sails of the team and the program.

I hope his mother recovers and this becomes a season we call all really enjoy. It has been a long time for the fans that stuck with the team.

Heron's eligibility guarantees Coach Mullin will have a big time season ........ either big time success, or big time disappointment. Lets take one game at a time.

My primary concern is that Ponds, and / or Heron consider the upcoming season as more an opportunity to audition for the NBA than to compete for a top 10 ranking.

Fran F
Now the most talented team in the Big East and the most talent at St. John’s in a while.

Have patience. We have 99 more things to come starting with the first exhibition game.

Very logical statement. It will either be a turning point in Mully's career as coach or a career ending situation. This is the most experienced and individually talented group since the Artest/Jarvis years. Just winning 20 games with this schedule would be considered a bad season by anyone's standard.
