Talking to a colleague who I recently found out went to Fordham, as my daughter will be heading there in Sept.
He said the same thing posted earlier by Otis, that they've historically been tight on keeping admissions standards within reason of their profile and if they don't bend there, it doesn't matter who they bring in to coach or how much other support they put to program, they'll struggle to get out of A10 basement more often than not. However, other schools like Davidson, seem to do OK and don't settle on academic profile of the recruit too much.
Curious to see how Ed Kull moves along here.

I can see him wanting to leave because it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately business, and he might be growing stale. But he makes $3 million there, and Weir was making $775,000. I guess he'd get six years from UNM, and he probably doesn't have six years left at South Carolina at his curret win rate. Funny, I ran into a guy (a lawyer in NY) at the Jupiter ballpark a couple of days ago with a Fordham shirt on. Told him the Post had a story about the AD and BB coach openings. He spent 10 minutes telling me his problems and other Baseball players children with admissons either denying or wait listing the applicants. All top notched students and mostly all with ties to the Bronx. He use to throw a baseball dinner for the team and baseball alumns and raise $25,000 to boot for the school. The baseball alums started to bail after their kids couldn't get and now no dinner. Also the Gabnelli (sp?) story. After his daughter got wait listed she turned to her other schoold which all accepted her and enrolled at BC. He gave them 50 million. Was in the papers (in some sort) and the president was pissed that he gave money to BC and not Fordham. Anyway contact was made between them and the Prez apoogized and of course used the "why didn't you tell me" line. They patched things up somewhat and he then gave Fordham 25 million. If he told me one story, he told me 5 or 6.

This just in: I’m told Binghamton is elevating assistant Levell Sanders, a former Seton Hall star, to interim head coach for the next year. School must conduct a search per state regs, but Sanders certainly could become permanent. Sanders was a successful head coach in Europe.

it was reported his base salary was $350,000. With 20 years in the system he is in line to receive a guaranteed $175,000+/- every year of his life after age 55.
