Guys on Matt’s Radar
We may still get to see Femi :)
NC A&T grad transfer big man Femi Olujobi (@Floading_) announces his Final 4: Hofstra, DePaul, Butler, and Georgetown. 6-8 Long Island native averaged 16.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds while showcasing a little bit of floor-spacing ability.
NOT FUNNY!

:)

On the one hand, I'd really like to see us get someone taller than 6'3". Having said that, this guy rebounded very well in the SEC and if it comes to a choice between him and yet another sit out transfer, I would take him in a minute. Three sit out transfers is just too many. All it takes is a couple of injuries and we'd be completely up the creek and the staff would really look bad.
You make solid points NCJohnnie. I worry IF a 'journeyman' big would make much difference.
But if a guy like DeSean Murray is available to us, I'd pounce.
He snared 4 D-Rebs / game, 6.7 total in 24 minutes in the SEC. He can do that in the BEC also.

Chicago - I have no idea if we have a realistic chance with him (of course we'd need a scholarship to open up first). I have seen his name come up a few times on this thread and assume if Matt is still following him, there is at least a sliver of a chance in his mind.

Had really nice fr year (put name in draft) got hurt came into this year coming off injury and got less playing time due to more depth. Seemed to have a bit of an attitude problem, did not seem fully engaged maybe over jealousy toward team being taken over by freshman PG Colin Sexton and reduced PT.
He's a sit-out. Plus, we'd have him for 1 year in 2019-20--and then he'd opt (or try) for the NBA.

Thanks NCJohnnie. Hear you. I like this guy.

There has been a lot of talk how we need a big while that is true however, I feel we will be fine on what we have ,of course I would love to have a big body but over all those that are coming in will show us improvement in outside shooting, defense yes and in every position will will rebound better than last yr. Its just mo that we will show a great deal better and surprise many, So, I GUESS I happy what the staff has put together IF WE SHOW IMPROVEMENT IN COACHING KIDS UP and Xs and Os we will move up in confer play. and make the NCAA.In yr four that is what I WOULD CALL IMPROVEMENT Not making the dance will be viewed as shredding water and sooner or later you drown

USGuard: you made my day with perhaps the best typo of all time - "shredding water"; Climate Change at its most dramatic. On a college visit with my youngest and sitting in our hotel room before dinner - that one made me laugh out loud! All the best.

That's funny. I'm convinced 'typos' are alive.

That is why I hate using IM for anything but the shortest messages. My android/phone edits my message if it sees a word it doesn't recognize and all of a sudden I've sent a message my kids laugh at me about...of course they sometimes laugh at me about messages with no typos:)

Interesting. Big frame & athletic. You never know.

Landing a kid like Calloo would be amazing at this point. Kid would be in rotation of only 3 guys or at PF/C spots. All we need is one more big guy next season. Get it done Matt!

Bet this kid ends up at Illinois, but staff still needs to make a full court press on him.

If Diakite is healthy, this is likely a no-win for us.. but Calloo has an inch or two and 20-30 lbs on DIakite without the questionable knee...

Diakite can then go to UCONN w/ Yakwe
We never seem to recruit a center who knows how to actually play like a center
The last good center Mullin played with was Bill Wennington, so it seems like his Golden State days hold much sway over his coaching philosophy. It's one I disagree with, since Run-TMC never won anything. Then again, would that team do more in today's NBA? Maybe Nelson was a visionary, instead of a dude who couldn't identify a talented big man.
