Guys on Matt’s Radar

If you think I am waybiff base ask yourself an honest question. Who from this class do you think Norm Roberts or Steve Lavin would have been incapable of Recruiting?

Seriously?

Mitch sold his L.A. home for $8 million (profit of $6 mil) 2 years ago. But the way that CA real estate is going it would probably cost $50 million to replace it now. Don't think assistant college basketball coaches can afford California.

Hope this link works from local Greensboro paper on Olujobi possible. transfer.
Thanks for article NC Johnnie.
Seems like Femi has a sense of ‘loyalty’ to where he succeeeded. How unusual! Good kid. Hope we get him.
Sit out guard to pursue perhaps
Yoda-like indeed Paultz! I’m guessing Marcus Carr? He was 3* out of HS? Solid freshman stats at Pitt: 43% 2-pt range, 33% 3-pt land, 81% FT, 1.46 A/TO, 20 steals, 10 pt/g.

Luther Muhammad

Luguentz Dort,

And now we're getting pumped up about these guys on matt's radar?
Has the program fallen this far?
Have you checked the 2019 recruiting section? We're certainly still in the mix on plenty of legit names. This post is just about a snapshot of what Matt is currently going after in the transfer route, since we all know that's a huge need right now. Clam down people!!
I'm sorry it is a fair complaint. A big part of the reason Lavin was fired was because of his recruiting or lack thereof you cannot simply excuse the current staff's lack of success as that is just the way it is at SJU.

Also the failure to target and follow thru on key recruits and continued focus on transfers is partly due at least to the laziness and staff screwup (see Slice) of the current regime.

You cannot simply dismiss that as "Oh we never get top 25 recruits anyway." That is a copout.
I'm not dismissing the current staff at all! I'm not happy with the results either. I'm just being realistic about the situation here. Are there any recruits on that list who anyone could have realistically expected us to land, especially now knowing about the pay for play behind the scenes? Sure I'd like to see this staff seemingly work harder. The results will speak for themselves. Next year is make or break. I'll let the results speak for themselves instead of harping on something we don't have all of the information about.

Are the other two assistants involved in any of the recruiting, and if not, what else would they being doing at this time of the year?

Retired multi millionaires with NBA pensions an easily afford Manhattan Beach or Hermosa Beach AND have enough left over for a bachelor pad on the upper east side.

Retired multiillionaires also don't necessarily have the motivation and drive and passion to put in the grind required either. Just an observation.

All but one on that list were probably pipe dreams, though. And the one who we may have been able to pull off barely got any visits from us to his games, even though he played for a state championship a few hours north.

I don't care if Matt wants to be the transfer savant, but we need another guy combing the high schools. That's the bigger issue than a list of kids who had 50 better options than what we offer.

You will get rejected a lot maybe catch a rap with some hotties maybe even take one home or you could end up at last call when the song from Journey " dont stop believing " comes on and have to beer goggle ( kind of like the unknown transfer market ). Or what if you had a solid wing man to help you score some chicks by talking to other chicks and potentially you both hooking each other with chicks

Fixed it for you

Femi Olujobi May be our best shot of the bigs listed.
A ‘clue’ to whether he stays with NC A&T or ‘moves on’ may be the sitch with his boyhood friend, Aaron Edmead, PG there. What are Edmead’s realistic options?
Also, Femi began playing hoops in middle school and broke his left tibia the summer before his senior year—which greatly reduced his college options.
The guy has come on strong.
Hope he comes home to St. John’s.

M
I'm going with Whitney and Cockburn as best bets.
I’d be very happy with those two and, depending on how cluttered our guard depth is, Jalen Gaffney would be a great get as well.
