There's a 4 year difference between the 2 of them. Ridiculous comparison.
I’m not the one who said Jenkins would be battling Ayo for playing time

If you make that claim, I’m gonna come back and acknowledge that Jenkins is actually a better player than sophomore Wilcher and would be getting more time than him. Meaning no he wouldn’t be fighting Ayo for playing time

I am also not the one who said Wilcher looks like The Rock compared to Jenkins 😂

I was never a Jenkins fan at all. I like PG's that pass. Novel concept, huh?

I'm gonna say this once, Simeon Wilcher is not even close to Daniss Jenkins at this point in his development. If you think Wilcher is tougher or would be getting more playing time than Jenkins on this team, you are incredibly mistaken.

But, I am glad the Jenkins haters have planted their flag on Kadary island. Time for you guys to have a season where you are defending your guy from constant critique lol
I would take you over Jenkins 😆
My dislike for him has nothing to do with his skills or how good he is....it's the way he dictated absolutely everything. He made nobody other than maybe Soriano better. Even at Kadary's worst, he makes everyone around him better.

For this discussion, though, the topic is really narrow. Jenkins was built like a pre-pubescent girl. Georgia was a team of bullies who actively tried to eliminate space and make it ugly. Jenkins was awful with 50/50 balls and physical play.

The truth is we could have used his ball-handling this year, but he just can't play nice with others. He can't help himself with the selfish play and he would kill any chance at chemistry.

The Enright on DePaul reminds me of him...just races up with the ball at 100 mph, picks up his dribble and then the play goes wherever he decides. Just double the shot attempts for Jenkins.

The truth is - Jenkins, despite his frame, showed a consistent willingness last year to attack the rim and finish with an array of floaters, pull ups, and lay ups. Wilcher, I don't mean to harp on his shortcomings so far, I believe he will get better... shows essentially none of that. Unless he is able to step into a jumper cleanly, he is struggling to create shots for himself.

Jenkins and his ability to create shots would make him valuable in a game against even a tough team like Georgia. We weren't playing the Bad Boy Pistons here lol, he would have been fine.

I get not liking Jenkins usage rate, but thats also where I find the Kadary love fascinating. Compare Kadary and Jenkins stats last year. They both had similar roles where their respective offenses were running through them. Even with clear physical advantages, Kadary had a lower FG% than Jenkins. Jenkins obviously has him on 3pt shooting. Jenkins less turnovers per game. Jenkins more assists per game. And that is all with Kadary having a higher usage rate (28.1% to Jenkins 25.2%)

In fact, diving into the numbers... Jenkins and Richmond turned in extremely similar seasons last year. I get it, stats don't tell the full story, there is context to everything. But still.

I like Kadary and hope he has a great year, but so far I am not at all seeing what makes you talk about Kadary like he was sent to us by a higher power, while Daniss is talked about like some schmuck

I asked a question a few days ago that received no answers. I am not the only really old guy on this board who saw Oscar Robertson play. The question was "Is it easier to fix a hitch in a shooting stroke or make a completely new one?", as in Kadary learning a Big O type outside shot instead of unlearning the hitch in his existing shot and replacing it with something more reliable.

UConn was a skilled, finesse team last year. They spaced the floor. Georgia did the opposite. They purposefully turned it into an ugly rock fight and eliminated space.

They literally fouled every play and the refs acquiesced to that style.

Kadary was awful, but at least there is hope with him. I am 100% confident we’d miss the tournament with Jenkins. I am also 100% confident we would have made the tournament if we switched him for Smith or Richmond last year. Obviously that’s just speculative since we weren’t fortunate enough to find out.
I never said anything about making or missing the tournament this year with Jenkins instead of Kadary, just that we win the Georgia game with that trade. I don't see how that's even remotely debatable

Just to continue the devolvement of this thread. I think Jenkins would be a 6th man on this team, but also think he'd be 6MOY.

Not getting fixed this year. Honestly more concerned with his lazy play and turnovers than shooting. Though in past he wasn’t an atrocious free throw shooter, so that is worrisome.
But to answer your question, that shot can’t be fixed.

Guys who attack inside while commanding the ball 80% of the time don't average 2 FT's taken per game. Just saying. He avoided contact at all costs.
