Georgia, Sun., Nov. 24, 11am, CBSSN

There has never been a worse display of loose ball awareness/hands/toughness/ability than we saw in the first half vs Georgia. There is no way that Daniss would have hurt us there.

Also a 100% chance he would be starting had he had another year here, regardless if Kadary and Smith were here as well. I mean Sim has started half the games as is and we know how much RP loved Jenkins. It would be the three guards and RJ, or smith comes off the bench.

Now Smith definitely wouldn’t have came with both Richmond and Jenkins IMO and I’m glad that we have Smith instead. At least, for the time being we have him.

Just my opinion , Since it’s immaterial time frame wise but , I think Pitino would never had pursued Richmond , if Jenkins had another year of Eligibility , Wilcher would be playing along side him in the back court .
Neither Smith or Richmond would be on the team . Scott would be and the money spent on Richmond and Smith could have brought in a true Power Forward .
Scott has been a quality addition .
Richmond and Smith ‘s playing styles are not complimentary . They both need the ball and that’s a problem .
Plus , how can our Million dollar man not be in top condition ? And , it may rankle more than a few here but , anyone not disappointed in Richmond so far , isn’t making a valid assessment .

I , hope I’m wrong and he performs like he’s going to lead us to the BE Finals and a NCAA Bid . We will see .

And , Wilcher’s development will be stalled if he’s not given a meaningful amount of Playing time . Pitino would then be back sliding from his commitment to him and his parents .
Not a good look , no matter how you slice it .

I asked a question a few days ago that received no answers. I am not the only really old guy on this board who saw Oscar Robertson play. The question was "Is it easier to fix a hitch in a shooting stroke or make a completely new one?", as in Kadary learning a Big O type outside shot instead of unlearning the hitch in his existing shot and replacing it with something more reliable.
Dick Barnett.

Last thing I'm concerned about is Wilcher's development and playing time. We've hard about his potential the last year and a half. For me, it's getting tiring. He's shown flashes of being a much better player, but it's just time for him to produce. If he doesn't, he shouldn't be playing.

I agree. This is a well established and respected rule that all the great coaches firmly held. If a four star recruit has not started to play consintent ball six games into his second season, bench him. He had his chance to produce. This rule is actually inscribed on Wooden's statute!

I guess it’s ok to play 2 Free agent 1 and done players who are here only for their $$$$z

Richmond ,by any honest Assessment has been awful given what he’s being paid . Wilcher can’t play , if he’s not on the Court .
Wilcher has upside that can be realized this year and next , if he doesn’t transfer out .

Kadary has been Coached by 3 of the better Coaches in Basketball and drifts from team to team . There are reasons for that , which may not be known by fans .
Smith , similarly has drifted .
Pre season hype by our fan base has these 2 guys getting us to possibly the Sweet 16 and maybe more .
So far , to me , they have been underwhelming.

Wilcher is a better shooter than either Smith or Richmond . But , if he isn’t getting meaningful minutes , it’s a mystery to me .

Guys who attack inside while commanding the ball 80% of the time don't average 2 FT's taken per game. Just saying. He avoided contact at all costs.
Amazing. With all these perceived faults. Daniss is on the Pistons roster. What is the Piston coach thinking!!!!

Who’s saying to bench him? All I’m saying is, Pitino should care more about winning the game ahead of him than plying him for the sake of his development

Wilcher's defense, or lack thereof, is one reason. Hope he continues to improve.

Memo to Sly - “so far” has been 7 games which is not far at all and only the Georgia game was a loss we should have won. The rules of college hoops allow and in fact encourage players to move from team to team; that is not determinative of who should play.
Finally if as you say Pitino was brought here to make us a contender in March, he is entitled to determine who can best help him do that. Sim will be a fine player for us but he is in no way one of our best five players right now.

Not even close.

Jenkins numbers last year vs Kadary this year.

Jenkins 51.2%
Kadary 46.7%

Jenkins 32.3
Kadary 25.6

Jenkins 17.8
Kadary 24.3

Blk rate
Jenkins 1.9
Kadary 2.0

Jenkins 3.0
Kadary 2.7

Jenkins numbers last year are straight up lapping Kadary's numbers so far this year and 4 of Kadary's 7 games have been against sub 100 KP teams. There's no doubt the team would be better through the first 7 games with Jenkins instead of Kadary and we probably win the Georgia game with Eugene Lawrence instead of Kadary, let alone Daniss Jenkins.

Going forward I expect Kadary to significantly improve (at least I really hope he does) but to this point he's been vastly underperforming what Jenkins was last year.
Agree. . .fully expect the real Kadary to show up and be a difference maker. . .nonetheless, Jenkins , was a gamer and would absolutely be a big contributor and leader on this team
