@Georgetown, Wed., Feb. 21, 7p, FS-1

I don’t thing Alleyne is a particularly good one on one defender. Taylor is better imho.
Not only has he been a foul machine, he has not hit a timely shot in weeks. For all the crap the Dingle and Jenkins get - justifiably so - Alleyne has been every bit as bad.

These guys are 23 years old. We are supposed to be relying on their experience to execute when it counts. Rarely do they rise to the occasion.

We won and some are acting as we lost ….. allleyne …. He played ok….. sometimes reading this site after a win is a loss for me

He such an…odd…player. You’re probably right. He played mistake-free down the stretch which made a huge difference.

He makes horrific decisions. He doesn’t pass. Doesn’t play defense. His handle isn’t great. Not a good FT shooter. It’s all undeniable.

But….if Pitino can rein him in, which I’m hoping, he’s one of our best players for sure, moving forward.
Mistakes and all, RJ Luis was our best player tonight. Rushes his offense but no other player attacks like him on the team. The shin splint thing took a lot out of his game and the kid has barely scratched the surface of his potential.

I often have the same thought and understand the sentiment. This feels different. They would have blown this lead to every BE team other than Georgetown and DePaul. It’s shocking that Rick has not adjusted.

Also winning this game by 20 would have helped our slim odds for an at large bid. Instead this result hurts our chances despite the W.

I’m depressed.

We don't have a single player that can guard someone one on one
They blow by us regularly, our rotations are too slow to react and we give up easy layups time and time again
We foul like crazy because we constantly reach and don't move our feet
We emulate what Walt Frazier used to call the "Matador" defense
These things are Defense 101 that you learn in middle school and high school and our guys can't execute it now
Shameful!!!!!

St. John's fans, please stop complaining after a win. There are plenty of losses to be unhappy after. A sloppy win is like 2 day old apple pie. Yes, it's messy but it tastes a lot better than a shitty loss, so just be quiet and enjoy it.

Epps should have had dedicated defender to stick to him like glue on every possession. Unfortunately Alleyne and Conway and especially Dingle are not those guys.

"These guys burn my balls. They really pucker my butthole in the last 10 minutes of every game. But I'm stuck with them for the next four games."
I haven't watched the post-gamer yet. It's hilarious that I can't say with certainty whether this is a joke or Pitino actually said it.

It's hard to keep any type of lead when your second unit cannot produce.
These guys played 33 minutes combined and produced TWO POINTS:
Alleyne, Conway, Traore and of course, Taylor.
If Jenkins has a mediocre game and Luis or Dingle or Soriano have bad games I can bet my left nut we lose the game, even to a Georgetown.
Our top 5 all have to play their best and give 100 % or we lose.
This team has no real depth because Pitino handed out scholarships and NIL just to fill the roster.
I don't think he makes that mistake twice.

Be quiet and enjoy it? Don’t people have the right to express how they feel even though it may disagree with you? I think a fan has a right to be concerned with barely wining a game against a team that has won one other Big East game against a winless Big East team. Especially when it’s the same old story of losing big leads, horrific transition defense and questionable decisions from the sidelines.

Let’s hope with different players we see a different result but unless the staff does a better job adopting to its personnel, I don’t know how much better we get.
