@Georgetown, Tue., Jan. 28 , 6:30p, FS-1

If in fact Smith is not going to play, I don’t feel confident at all about this game. As I stated earlier, this may be a G Town team playing with something to prove. After all the Johnnies didn’t run all over them at the Garden, the game was a nail biter till the closing minutes. Thank goodness Kadary seems to be coming on to make up for Smith’s absence. Let’s hope it’s enough.

Here’s hoping that Smith gets better fast.

i want smith returning has fast as possible... we know how dynamic he is...BUT... but... blessing in disguise...

We are starting to see the emergence of "All-American" Kadary... ball in his hands, good things will happen for everyone.

We stay as aggressive as we have been on D... we'll be fine

Obviously would love to see Smith play if and when he's ready. Imho we would miss him more against PC than Georgetown. Georgetown has a thin bench while PC consistently plays 8 or 9 guys all of whom contribute and Deivon was one of our keys in win at Providence. Hope he can get some practices in this week and be on the court Saturday if not Tuesday.

Out of sheer boredom I went back and looked at your comment history in all the game threads for the last six games, and every single one had some version of "I don't feel good about this one/ I don't see us winning".

So maybe you could just let us know if you ever feel good about any game and otherwise we'll just assume you think we're going to lose. 😂

PC outplayed GT in second half markedly, a frequent habit of Hoyas.

Peavy and Sorber are really solid obviously, but GT guards seem vulnerable to pressure and certainly wilted yesterday.

GT allowed 16 O rebounds yesterday, a favorite second chance ability of SJU.

Will miss Smith a lot, but confident we will wear down GT in second half and grab road win in another competitive gut check outing.

How is he going to get practices under his belt when Beast said he still can’t lift his arm past his shoulder?

Watching yesterday, all those Providence offensive rebounds got my attention, and not in a bad way.

Gee thanks for the interest. And to think, I was assured there were no stalkers on this site. 😂👍 Well it took me a while to understand the way this team plays but as of late, without Smith, the games have been pretty close with last minute comebacks it seems. Certainly not giving anyone with an understanding of this sport an overwhelming feeling of confidence.

I mean come on now, I guess you were confident all along and knew we had it in the bag when we were down 16 in the second half to Xavier, a game I was very concerned about. Was that concern not justified?

In terms of your boredom, may I suggest you take up another hobby like Bocce Ball or Midget Tossing cause clearly your attempt to call me out from your boredom makes you look quite needy.

I think that one key to the game is that Zuby is going to have to play a great game to neutralize their bigs and Kadary, another game like he had against Xavier. If they do that, the rest of the team should be able to hold their own. Thinking that way, while the game may be close, they should be able to pull out a win.

Are you seriously using a game WE WON as justification for your worry-wartism? "Well, were losing at one point!" Buddy... 😂 😂 😂

(Btw, we had a whole argument before the game when I said I wasn't worried about them...AND WE WON.)

But please, keep being negative before every game. One time you'll be right and get to say I told you so ( which is the whole point)

And btw, I'm sure your CYO coaching career was impressive, but please with the "for those who understand the game" nonsense. I wouldn't be busting that out if I was on a six game (soon to be seven!) prediction losing streak!

LETS GO REDMEN!

I was worried for this last one. I think Xavier is a tournament team and really needed it. I don't get nervous for away games. I won't be nervous at all for our ranked conference opponents...I think worst case 2-2 and I think we can take Marquette's lunch money and stuff them into a locker.

My confidence v Xavier was more a "horses for courses" thing than any opinion on how good Xavier is. We are a nightmare matchup for them. I'll be plenty concerned against UConn/MU/Creighton, although I agree I think all of them are winnable (Diasgree on MU, I think they're the toughest matchup of the three)

Smith being out takes away from how we can crush teams with pressure and on the glass. That's a potential 30 minutes and our best on-ball defender. We've seen them gas out after relentless stretches and I think that is also what leads to our slow starts -- like a boxer taking the early rounds easy to keep gas in the tank for the later rounds.

BTW, I think Marquette is just as susceptible to our offensive rebounding as Xavier. We just have to limit turnovers and guard the three.

Love smith but yes. Agree.

Besides his speed, passing, three point shooting and defense not having Smith against Georgetown hurts our defensive rebounding. That said we should win.

I assure you my experience goes far beyond CYO coaching but obviously yours hasn’t. In terms of being negative, not at all, I always root for them to win but at least I’m not the jerk that calls out posters over dumb crap like this.

In terms of your “I told you so comment”, re read your post….. you just did that exact thing regarding the Xavier game…. 😂😂😂😂now don’t you feel foolish? 😂😂😂😂😂
