Georgetown (MSG), Sat., Mar. 9, 12 Noon, FOX

No CA at Tir na nog. Unfortunately, my spectating live is done for the year as I'm missing Gtown and the BE tournament for the 1st time in like 40 years. I know I can count on you guys to be loud, proud and drunk to cheer us on to victory and give Joel and Daniss the senior day send-off they deserve.
I’m gonna forgo my grabbing a beer as soon as I walk in MSG just so I can get there early to cheer for DJ for Marillac :)

Rick said tonight that this is a tournament game--no win/no go unless they win BE tournament. This game will really show if the team has gotten better in the last 2 weeks as we gave Hoyas 85 points last game. Nervous but maybe Rick borrows Billy'sred suit for the game.

Great day for the seniors; this is one senior day we could start 5 seniors who are all starter equivalents; something I've never seen before.

I'm thinking there's no way Rick does anything but put the best players and best strategy on the floor to win this game from.the onset.

To think any differently would be dangerous in my mindset. This isn't Christ the King vs. Cathedral Seminary Prep in the days where those kids sfudying for the priesthood would compete in the same league as Molloy, Holy Cross, CTK, etc. These are D1 athletes we are playing against and giving anything less than our very best in all ways from the jump ball could lead to a disastrous result.

Come out as if we are playing UCONN. Play our best with our best, and maybe at some point late in the game Rick can rotate just seniors out of the game to get each kid an ovation as they are subbed out.

This game can put a cap on a remarkable close to the tegular season, but also let's be honest since 4 of the last 5 games have been against the bottom teams in conference.

Georgetown IS good enough to beat us even if we are double digit favorites. I don't want to feel like we are planting a flag at the top of Mt Everest, only to slip at the last moment to plunge into the abyss.

Looking forward to a great day but not foolish enough to think that this will be a Garden party without another great effort by our guys.

Post note: it's really too bad that our fans are clamoring late for tickets to a game vs. A 2-17 opponent. I was in the ticket office and they were scrambling to package a giant stack of will call tickets as if this was a really big game. Those fans missed a really enjoyable ride this year.

One of the things often forgotten here , is that Jenkins is the only starter who played for RP previously . I’m not counting Ayo and Cruz Davis because they are Iona kids , not playing currently .
2 of our Starters are Ivy League All Stars who likely have not had a Coach in 4 or more years , ever tell them forcefully they aren’t doing the job ?

Pitino is not a Nursery School teacher ! Many , many Coaches over the years have had to prod their Players to better performances . They don’t accomplish that with sweet talk and chocolates . They Yell !

So , only 1 of these Players has ever experienced the style of a HOF Coach like Pitino .
He’s trying to make every one of them to exceed their previous ceiling . It’s a tough job to do .
Smiley faces come after a Win or Senior Night or Winning a BE Tournament game or 4 .
Seems like most Ivy league kids are snowflakes
Game and Cooley scare me
You are the Prince of Darkness when it comes to unknowns.

I was at Holy Cross back when that mattered for basketball ...

I even met Looie at a game when he was scouting two HC players. Chatted with him a bit and he could not have been nicer. Great man. Love him to death.

I would be fine though if we go with a starting lineup of Seniors

Jenkins
Dingle
Alleyne
Ledlum
Soriano

I also think Conway should get in the game early if only for a couple of minutes around a timeout.

We are deep and none of our Seniors hurt us.

Rick will do the right thing and still go for the jugular.

Tha Kid and Tha Grandkid will be in 118…gonna try to find the 114 crew at halftime

Can’t wait for a big win and loud crowd today….
we are row 20 and 21 in the middle of that row in the back of 114. Impossible to miss us at halftime. you and I have met already but look for the tall guy in the red redmen.com jacket
