I think Branch was more important to the win yesterday then anyone is giving him credit for. He is never in the game when we usually fall behind early because he doesn't start and is usually in the game whenever we make a run. He is not a savior but a very skilled basketball player. I don't want to see Balamou take any of his minutes. Let him take some of Dom's. Dom misses more layups than my son and his six grade friends.
Branch made some lazy mistakes, but his vision is damn near absurd. I don't even know how he found Harrison from for that corner three off the rebound. As you pointed out, Branch being in the game usually coincides with some type of run. The ball movement is noticeably better when he is in the game. I just wish he was more aggressive and rebounded better.
The only absurd thing about Jamal Branch is you vision of him because his court vision sucks along with his telegraphed passes. The FRESHMAN walk on from Cali has better vision.
When you have Pointer missing three layup/dunks a game, I hardly think you can complain about Branch. He had six assists yesterday in 22 minutes.
When he starts getting 6 assists against Division 1quality opponents I'll give him props. He is good for 2 or 3 unforced turnovers against decent teams. Pointer.....never been a fan and one of the lowest basketball IQ players every to wear a redmen jersey.
