Fordham, Mon., Nov. 4, 6:30p, FS-1

A few things stood out to me; first, not sure what a HOF coach like Pitino was seeing giving Dunlap the minutes he did the way he kept getting beat so consistently on defense. Seriously, sometimes I wonder what game some people are watching. Outside of Johnson, Fordham shot 12-36 so methinks people may be just a wee bit off on their obsession. Dunlap played a fine, not great, but fine all around game on both ends of the court and was rewarded accordingly.
Speaking of shooting, the Johnnie’s were 26-40 from 2, and 9-26 from 3 so they might consider toning down the quick jacks from 3 and you know, work the ball a bit and take the 3’s in the rhythm of the game.
Finally, I hoisted a post game lager not to the also fine win but rather to Monte’s astute observation concerning Luis’ unresolved shin issues, best post of the night.

I don’t get the hate towards RJ. I guess many of you don’t get the fact that when you can beat the man who is playing you and score you do so and I’m sure Coach wants him to do so. It’s not like he took wild shots, he was 4 for 7. Are there areas of RJs game that can be improved?, of course but when he’s tearing it up as the season progresses you will all deny the crap you are laying on him now as he has now become the sites whipping boy.
I love the potential. RJ-Kadary-Scott 2-4 could be crazy if it works.

He cost himself tonight. That punt will be a lowlight teams look at during the draft. That just can’t happen. He take this clip and wrote two very different stories. It’s up to him.

Dunlap got beat twice tonight by a 6’0 165 guard. He’s not going to win many of those. Maybe a 6’3 guard. Stop exaggerating.

Not going to belabor it. But he’s a highly gifted athlete. And a boneheaded basketball player. I was critical last year. I’ll give him some slack early. But he exhibited a lack of judgement and control in this his first “healthy” game. I hope he matures and avoids his chucker approach. But we have seen this kind of player before. It’s not hate. It’s not being an apologist.

His play tonight can be tolerated against the Fordhams of the college basketball world, but not against the UCONNs of the college basketball world. I'm skeptical that he's ever going to be the player that he's capable of being, but hope to be proven wrong. Time will tell.

Kadary can really help him out. Just get a little more control and better balance.

It’s not hate? Zuby had a horrific game, out of position defensively, didn’t rebound at all against a smaller/weaker opponent, couldn’t score in close and generally looked out of it yet no one says anything. RJ’s second foul was a bogus call, after he just hit two threes and the RJ haters were on fire, just waiting for any sort of mistake. Go back and reread the posts if you don’t believe me.

I'm glad we are only one game into the season and you are already claiming to be smarter than our HOF coach! 😕

Just curious, how do you know that coach P is not telling him to force the action and take his man one on one? Calling him a wannabe stat sheet stuffer is not quite fair.
Am hearing RJ was suspended for bad attitude. Can anyone confirm?

Maybe because he does three or four colossally stupid things every game. Petulantly fouling someone immediately after he turns the ball over, reaching in and fouling his man 40 feet from the basket, going one on five. Constantly lets his emotions get the better of him.

Whether or not he tears it up at some points during the season doesn't matter if you can't trust him.
