Fordham game

With Kansas about to be upset by Colorado, Cuse could be #1 next week. Cannot wait!!!!

Arizona probably will be the next #1, if they beat UNLV.

I'm glad you were finally able to enjoy yourself today. B) It was certainly a heckuva game by our bunch, today.

By the way, Colorado beats Kansas on a 30-35 footer at the buzzer. Wow! Colorado snaps a 19-game losing streak to KU.

Thanks Dink! It was nice seeing Lou after the game. Brian was his chauffeur today. I am pulling for Cuse to be #1 since Jimmy B typically under coaches when Cuse hits #1.
That 3 point could on Wiggins was bogus! The replay showed he was never touched.

I also into Lou entering parking garage. His response was "We really sliced them up good"! Great man!

He looked good Paultzman! Hard to believe it has been 21 years since he retired! Lou will turn 89 in 4 weeks!
His last 10 years at SJ we were at the NCAA tourney 9 of 10 years and the year we went to the NIT we won it.

Looked like the team is really building chemistry which usually comes from winning. Announcers stated that the Johnnie's were really smarting from the Penn State'
loss and felt they should have won that game. Obekpa, Greene, and DLo clowning on the bench with every big basket from Marco etc. down the stretch. Really nice to see. Guys had a ball. Would absolutely love to see that next Sunday.

A triumphant return to the Garden for Mjmaherjr.

I don't know what you guys have been complaining about the last few weeks.

We looked great. :)

Great to be sitting with Kranmars again and seeing Gman,Paultz and great to finally meet Desco

Agree MJ, nice to spend some time with funny, great bunch of guys. Nice day! Also must add, quite generous of MJM to bring the Hookah & Turkish rug to the game. By the half I didn't care who won.

LOL. A win over Syracuse I'll put that carpet on the top of my car and have nathalie drive us around while we sit on top smoking that hookah

This was a feel good game for the team and the fans. I don't think I can add anything to what has already been written. It was a great performance by the team. One thing I did notice in the box score on espn.com though. I didn't see him in the game but the box score had Christian Jones in for 2 minutes with no stats. It had been written that he would redshirt or was redshirted and I don't recall seeing him in a game or in a boxscore before this game. Was that an error in the boxscore , has he been reshirted or is he just not playing?

No-way-NBA? No way to that - it's way to early to make pronouncements, but this boy can play this game.

It is not too early for that pronouncement. He is not playing in the NBA, but he can be a very good college player.

Did he steal your wife or something? Honestly your posts about him appear to be based on a self opinion that you possess a superior ability to judge ability. What I am saying is that guys his size who can handle the ball, display a soft touch from the outside, and have an NBA body should not be judged based on a handle of games he has played. You will probably in the end be correct, but only because MOST very good college players never make the NBA. But with his size, court vision, ball handling, and passing, I wouldn't bet against him until I see how he performs in his one college season against a schedule of top competition.

I really like Sanchez as a player, I just cannot stand our fans' obsession with everyone going to the NBA. Sanchez came into the game today, after 1/4 of his final season being over, averaging 4.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Someone can be a helluva college player and not even be looked at by the NBA...our fans need to realize there is a middle ground.

On that point I'd agree with you. I'd rather not discuss a guy's NBA prospects at all, but it was talked about so much before he played a single game (even the Wisconsin game announcers spoke about it repeatedly), but then after a handful of games, the pendulum swung, and guys (you included) started saying he is NOT an NBA player. All I'm saying is let him play his only season, (and let the rest of the kids play theirs) and then we'll see what happens.

To be fair, I have been saying it since before his first game.

I just got back after celebrating one of the most satisfying wins I can remember. Fordham isn't that bad and neither is Severe.

I'm sure there will be days we can't throw it in the bucket...but when we can, we can beat anyone!!

That was fun. The ball movement was incredible today, hopefully we continue to play unselfish. Granted Fordham isn't great and rarely will we shoot the ball that well, that was a great team win. Between the 2nd half of the GT game and this game we have some nice momentum and swagger going into the Syracuse game. Time to take them down!

We are underway here on the replay of the game, glad I get to watch.

By the way, the Texas/Temple game I went too ended with a GW three in OT for the longhorns, great game.

Me too. had to work and forgot to DVR, Was kicking myself when I saw final score. Glad I found replay, Hard to believe they go on to win by almost 60

Missed the game and my DVR didn't record it...what was the game like? Did we press? How the hell did they shoot 80% in the first half...was it a layup line?

9:30 tonight on FCSA.
Channel 262 on my comcast,

Do you know by any chance where I could find it on verizon fios?

Channel 300
Thanks for the info! It's 452 on TWC in Manhattan. I'm getting ready to sit back with a few glasses of wine and really enjoy watching it.

Haven't seen a beat down like this since.... well Duke and UConn three years ago. Still, this was as dominant a performance as I've seen. Would love them to keep it up.

Great job by staff and players, breakout game for prim, passing was great and ball moved to the tune of a staggering 29 assists.

Just got home from Hong Kong. First thing I did when we touched down was check the score. Good way to end a 13 hour flight. Didn't DVR it either but it's on again tomorrow on FSCA at 1pm EST/10am PST.

There have been a lot of negative posts the lasts few weeks but I've been trying to keep the positive light on our johnnies . You can read my older post, I been telling everyone we will finish at worst 3 rd in the big east at best we will finish 1st . This is only our 8th meaningful game as a whole together ( Europe doesn't count ) to be a great team it takes defense and chemistry something that we are now starting to develop . I have been waiting 2 years as well for our team to develop , (this is to all you negative posters on the be patient thread ) but the bottom line is that it takes time to develop chemistry because Jordan , Sanchez, hooper are new to the system and team . Practice does not count , practice speed is is completely different to game time speed against an openent that you haven't seen . For the first time in 2 years we finally broke a zone the right way today , if we feed the high post the way we did today against cuse there is no doubt we will beat them . We're just as big and as long as they are and on top of that our back court is much more expierenced. So for everyone that was worried about how we were playing early in the season ,like I said before we got the W and that's all that matters. WHEN we beat cuse that penn state loss won't matter. As far as NBA players being in the roster , well I've been saying a lot about that before the season even started , beast and marillac know but I don't feel like getting into that now .

I don't recall having so much fun watching a blowout since an early season game in I think 1984 against UCLA when I was a teenager. Anyone remember that game?
Not that long ago. The next game was the Pitt hooker scandal and Jarvis's last year. I think it was Howland's first year. They had a kid who played for the Knicks and not much else. I think Showtime and Ingram had big games for the Johnnies. Georgetown was our only BE win. Man, we been through some rough times.

You're correct. Howland was at UCLA, and we beat them badly at the Garden.

The "kid" you're thinking about is Trevor Ariza. I believe he committed when Lavin was still coaching UCLA.

I am actually having recollections of a UCLA game at the Garden 30 years ago. Reggie Miller might have been a freshmen but my memory is very vague. I remember Willie Glass with a couple of tomahawk dunks, kinda like Pointer today.

Good Memory, Andrew..Miller was on UCLA and I think Mullin's team too.. Chris might have been a senior.. I recall one instance where Mullin stole the ball, had a breakaway and Miller almost caught him from behind, before Chris dunked, which Chris rarely did. I could not believe how fast Reggie was then and thru out his career.

Anyway, Who was the better shooter, Chris or Reggie? I think Chris was the better pure shooter with flawless form, release, etc.. Reggie was a dangerous streak shooter who could get on tears where he could not miss.. Just ask Ewing and the Knicks.. Both are obviously HOF PLAYERS. Reggie always seemed to come up big in the clutch, must win game.. And, among the best all time trash talkers!
