Fire Lavin!

If Lavin was one of Repole's horses he would have gelded him by now, or sent him off to the kill pen.

I really wonder what Repole's take is on this whole situation and the future. Certainly he's got input as one of the school's biggest supporters

Welcome to rock bottom!! If we lose to Dartmouth there will be a mutiny....horribly coaches game, we ran 1 offensive set all game....1!!! Anyone else notice that on offense we go half speed and not one of our screens is actually set correctly? No movement no ball reversal! Give me Hurley or masiello anyday

What made him put in Hooper in the last minute, instead of,let's say Jordan? My stomach growed as soon as I saw that sub.Why was Jordan not used during the overtime periods? Did I miss something? Why can he use his stars for most of the game? Cotton played all 50 minutes comparable to Mark Jackson when the game was always in doupt. I don't understand his logic on these matters ,plus others without getting verbal diarea

There are a lot of folks here who don't think St johns will eat Lavin's last year. As far as i'm concerned, it's a sunk cost. They should let him go and find a more competent coach. We need to move forward. They are not putting a good product on the floor and have not been for some time now.

There comes a point where you have to weigh eating salary versus extending a contract which is needed for recruiting purposes. It's that time and one isn't as bad as people make it seem.

For Salary cap purposes I think Ron Rutledge,Frashilla,Mahoney,Jarvis and Norm all come off the cap officially this year :)

You're absolutely right. After this season is the right time to do it for a number of reasons. But on a scale of 1-10 how confident are you that SJU, without a full-time President, would make that kind of decision this spring? I'd give it a 2, and I think that's being generous.

Really Paultz? Ok then. I trust your instincts, so maybe Lavin's job isn't as secure as everyone thinks.
That just gave me a shot of optimism :)

If he isn't fired (and I highly doubt he will be) He will be extended out to at least 4 years, all of which privately will not be guaranteed. This would allow him to recruit, rather than be seen as a lame duck potential.

That is exactly what I am afraid of (contract extension). Please.......I really hope he steps down.

By the way, when I think of Jordan (arguably our best player at driving to the rim) sitting on the bench while we were in the double bonus for two overtimes........I literally start to twitch. I don't believe he trying to get fired, so this makes him moronic.

If that is the case why aren't all contracts done that way?
