Fear and Loathing on redmen.com

You used percentages when it suited you and totals when percentages didn't, to make the facts seem different than what they are. See also how to lie with statistics 101. So much for your pretense of objectivity.

I actually did not do that. Another argumentative statement. The facts are there on the link you provided which is all I did, without comment. So for a guy with first off the bench minutes objectively speaking his numbers are respectable unless you have an emotional bias. I did not call you or others, reverse racists or anything like that.

I agree with Fun in that Mussini is pretty much a one dimensional player who cannot guard his shadow but the emotional bias you hinted to may be real. Italians were usually not on the waiting list for residence in Breezy Point. ;) :) :p

I have said multiple times and don't mind taking criticism for it. Mussini is a good outside shooter but a D2 player in most other aspects. It's not personal.

Are we done cleansing ourselves from Fun's ass? Make sure you genuflect before your next post for him. Bizarre.

It's very likely that one or two players transfer at the end of the year. Not sure it's worth speculating on who. Just in this thread, there has been speculation that Yakwe, Ponds, Lovett and/or Mussini will transfer.

No need to ship these guys off. They're coming off a nice win. Hopefully they will continue the intensity from the Cuse game and we can see what happens in April.

disagree totally. Moose played out of position last year. Ill take a guy hitting mid 40% on 3s. Short memory on lack of shooting we've had on this team [...] Mussini has said and done all the right things since being here, i wouldn't want him a kid like hime to leave. By the end of the year, if we run a 3 guard offense he will be an important tool.

We have three guards and four players shooting > 40 percent from three and all of them bring something else to the table, as opposed to Missini, who's an oompah loompah who couldn't dover a pillar. Next year with Simon he'd be the fifth guard. I have no problem with him being the fifth guard. If he's anything more than that we're in deep doo doo.

Brust also ignited the defense, something of an intangible you can't put a value on.

We all have different memories of our favorite players. Here's my favorite Brust story:

"One [camp invite] for the Bulls was a tough but marginally talented kid from St. John’s, Matt Brust. Brust was a wide-body guy with a crew cut who resembled a Marine drill sergeant and played that way.

Brust pretty quickly figured with Armstrong, John Paxson, and Craig Hodges at guard, his position, he wasn’t going to make the team. So he decided to make a name. He was playing physically and one day started going after Jordan, eventually taking out Jordan as Jordan was about to dunk. Jordan landed hard and the medical staff came running.

Jordan got back up in a few minutes an insisted the scrimmage continue [,,,] When the scrimmage got going again ... Jordan stripped the ball while defending Brust and ran out ahead to dunk. But as Jordan got to the basket he slowed down for Brust to catch up. As Brust went up to take out Jordan again, Jordan switched the ball to his left hand and leaned back and smashed Brust in the face with his right elbow. Brust went down and he was out—and released the next day as well."
i question how much of a fan you even are ripping into guys that represent what a johnnie is. Hard nosed underrated kids with heart. For every Matt Brust story you list there is one for a guy like Willie Glass who Pat Reilly said had the worst basketball skill he's ever seen and cut him immediately. Willie also a fan favorite. Bottom line is what they represented here when playing. Many older fans loved the Matt Brust floor slap. I know i got pumped up and so did MSG! As far as Moose goes, your way too hard on the kid. Take a shot at the many kids who came here, had no heart, and gave up and quit on us. They are fair game, not a kid thats still developing and playing well at the moment. Whats your angle dude?

God help me I find myself agreeing with the good Doctor more often than not now a days. But before all that even when we were insulting each other about Norm I always found him funny and interesting. To each his own but honestly the people who he offends take their selves way too seriously. Now excuse me while I go bow to my Fun idol ;)
BTW Norm should have been fired after year 3, Geno was the worst ST John's basketball player ever and Mark Jackson def should have started over Moses. Don't want Fun to get too big of a head.

I played one summer in the competitive but rough and tumble summer league in breezy. I was warned not to get into a fight with any players from breezy because they were all related and if you fought one youd soon be fighting ten. Shallow gene pool back then i guess and plenty of anti anything not irish , especially italian

Times have really changed in Breezy. Not only do they let a token Italian in every now and then, the president of the coop association is Jewish I believe.

So back to the topic....is he still running a fever or is he back on his feet in Queens?

+1

Is the poor kid out of the hospital?

I hope mussini stays. We need his shooting ability. The kid is lights out

There are 4 other guys on this team shooting over 40% on 3 and they all a) will be better at getting their shot off against high D1 players that STJ will face the balance of the season and b) have secondary skills that make them better players, Mussini doesn't. I'm with Fun and co., then again I guess that was clear a long time ago. Mussini should be good to come in about 5-7 mins per game just to get folks thinking. I don't like Ellison either and think his recent shooting is an aberration (like the banked 3), but he at least has a little length. And to be clear that doesn't mean I dislike them, just don't see them as being useful to the future success of the program.

I know. My Irish wife said "There goes the neighborhood "!

Doesn't look like Federico Mussini (infection) will play for St. John's in Big East opener. Thursday Could be out a few weeks. #Sjubb
