The NY Post article says: "He becomes the first NBA head coach that jumps from being an NCAA assistant who has no prior Division I head-coaching experience."
It is unprecedented.
But how many people ultimately want that job right now?

This is great for Coach Dunlap and St John's. I am just curious if Dunlap will talk to Jordan about Harkless. It would be an easier transition if Harkless did go to the Bobcats, being under the same coach he had in most of his college season. I can't wait to see where Harkless goes in the draft and what Dunlap will do with the Bobcats.
For anybody who doubts Dunlap as being able or ready for this job. I think Michael Jordan knows a good coach when he sees one. I hope for the best for Dunlap next year.

there was a pretty decent lineup of people who interviewed for that job. they wanted it.
& nothing good comes out of it for St.John's. They lose the brains behind the scenes of the x & o guy. I'm happy for him , happy for St.John's getting press of it for recruiting but who truly can help what Dunlap has done in 27 months here ?
