Depaul Game Thread

They are fun and unpredictable to watch, but the trend shows promise. Starting to get it apparently, hope Harkless is okay, pretty tough guy to hang in there.

Great balanced scoring. Who says we can't shoot. Have to give both Harrison and Achiewa "players of the game." Nice rebounding and putbacks by God's Gift; took another charge. Greene really has come on as a point guard. Could be interesting next year with Phil and Branch.

Forget bringing in bigs..... We need shooters, this team can't shoot.

Melvin is taking Mo to the cleaners..... Perhaps Dunlap should wake up and put someone else on him. He is single. Handidly being the Johnnies with Mo guarding him. Wake up coach.

Are you and illwill related?

definitely not two rocket scientists

 Very good road win!
D'Angelo with a career high 29 points! Phil had a great homecoming. GG was a man off the bench. Moe injured but toughed it out. Great distribution of minutes by coach D!
Enjoyed the intermittent comic relief provided by the "sky-falling-falling" crew ......... Funny no closing comments after a win from the "keep-it-positive" crew. LOL!! Sorry we won guys! I am sure you will be in top form Saturday.

 Dear Moe,
Dont talk about the NBA again anytime soon or your stats will look like this... 2-17 FG 0-2 3ptFG 9pts Please don't put the cart before the horse.

PS. Its not for our sake. Its for your own.

With that said, Phil Greene got BIG again today!

Remember the important statistics: our bench only had 5 points.

;)

Wrong! GG was double digits.

Nah, That's why I put the emocon up, I was joking. They showed a stat with about 6 or 7 minutes left in the game about how our bench was being outscored 22-5. We only have one guy on the bench. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid these networks are and how their useless stats keep popping up.

Did you watch the game? He is clearly hurt which had alot to do with the poor shooting and you forgot to mention he was great on the boards.

why, cause we tell it how it is? People need to just take the blinders off at times.

any win on the road at this point is a good one. lets go knock off the orange...

I really wanted the W tonight. I wanted these kids to prove they could win on the road and they could be teams they are supposed to beat. They did both tonight.

Harrison...wow. 29 pts...7/12 from three...MONEY from the FT...and a tight handle. The ball will be tucked away in his hands for the next 3+ years in close games. He's going to pad his stats nicely. Is there a better kid out there to have with the ball and up a few points? He's going to break the hearts of so many fans over the next few years in March and April.

Greene- I predicted 20 and 6, but 14 and 6 with a huge impact on the game is pretty damn nice. COMPETITOR.

Mo - Tough game...still a freshman. He got picked up by his mates.

Garrett/Pointer - Very happy with their combined stat line. 7/9 from the field, 6-8 from FT line...10 boards. Pointer was too sloppy with the ball with 5 t.o.'s, but I like how they take what they are given. A few more assists will follow over time..and a few three balls...but defense and hustle will be the name of their collective game.

GG - Have to tip my hat. Great second half for this guy. I still think he's best suited for coming off the bench for 12-15 mpg, but he will change a few games for us next season when he's on.

And we have the #51 overall player, a point guard, watching in street clothes! This team is going to be awesome--although Syracuse could get ugly. Harrison 2-14 from three?

I assume you are referring to yourself. We have a 6'8 future lottery pick, a SG that is going to break the single-season trey record as a freshman--and probably the all-time career points record before all is said and done, a combo guards that shows flashes of being unguardable and a huge competitive spirit at all times, we have two top 75 RSCI stud defender athletes, and a stud PG in street clothes itching to get on the court.

This team will be insanely good. You are foolish if you think otherwise. At least you will be able to revel in the Syracuse loss this weekend, but you'll be in for it next season when these kids make the Sweet 16.

Class of 72, I think you are misguided. Do I want this team to win? Of course. I go crazy during every game, watch every minute of every game, and am the definition of a die hard. However, I am not going to always think everything is great when its not. I am a realist, and lets be honest, beating DePaul by 6 on the road isn't something to write home about. While we won a BE road game, and got to 4-6 in the BE, there are still problems. I am very hopeful for the future, and I love Lavin, but not everything is perfect. I hope you are not a Mets or Jets fan, with your attitude.

depaul was favored by one on the betting line to win this game. we won. that's all you need to know. good win on the road against a pretty good team.

I think that the style of play that you saw tonight was more of Lavin's vision (constantly running up-and-down the court) then we've seen before. IMO, we are going to be seeing a lot more games like this in the coming years, when depth and talent reach a much higher level then it is at now.

Depaul wasn't a bad team in the least. They played and shot quite well. We just played better. Good and tough road win.

So, let me understand your position from the above:
We won on the road BUT big deal. We should have lost as we we were not favored. Check!
There are still problems. I agree! We start 5 freshmen and have one "playing" sub. That is a problem. Check!
Your love, love , love.....BUT seek perfection from 5 freshman. Check!
I am a Mets fan. Check!

I think I underestimated you.
