Curbelo

With all of the issues I've had with CMA, his going out and getting Curbelo is not one of them. Given the chance, you've got to grab a kid with Curbelo's talent, especially on a team lacking in talent, and hope you can reign him in. IMO Curbelo should have come off the bench and Posh and Curbelo should have seen limited time on the court together. Having said that, no matter how CMA had utilized Curbelo, it was never going to work because of Curbelo being Curbelo.
Agree it seemed worth rolling the dice on the talent, hoping being back home would work. Up to the staff to piece that together and it backfired. Right now it’s addition by subtraction.

Recruiting at this stage is all about NIL. Relationships still matter, but if the NIL is strong it seems all else is much less important.

Are you saying that you also need to mature to cure your shortcomings, or that if Curbelo matures it will also cure your shortcomings?? 😂
Curbello has talent. But watching him this year, he is half the player as Harrison. Even when Harrison was going through his subordinate streak as a sophomore, his teammates seemed to like him, he was a very good shooter/scorer and played much better defense than Curbello. Not even close as players IMO.

the great Andre Curbello revered beyond belief reminds me of another revered coach killer the legend that was Anthony Mason jr. … maybe both can hang out miss shots , create turnovers and talk how great they are over cocktails…

the fact that this kid told the media he has no idea why he is not playing is another sign of anderanderson'se/personality. I would of at least respected coachthe telling him.

I think we may have to not take every word out of this kids mouth as 100% accurate. Do we really think he has no idea why he’s not playing?

You take a chance on a transfer like Curbelo sometimes when you are desperate to flesh out roster, despite a sketchy rep. That I appreciate, so I can’t rip CMA on that. To me the main issue with Andre, who has some talent, is he has become a huge distraction for staff and I assume teammates.

Whether he has emotional or other issues, SJU is not a mental health clinic. Assisting him to access help with whatever his problems are is appropriate, but with multiple suspensions, immature behavior like twice entering media area & skulking in a hoody at a game with face covered it seems time to cut bait. Imo there is no benefit having him on active status for remaining few games. Let him keep his scholarship for this semester and give other kids like King some experience.
