Curbelo

So strange that after his Media Stunt he gets allowed on the trip and plays.

CMA read Zach's article and basically said that my job is more important than discipline.

Way to stick to your convictions coach!

in feel like I’m in the minority, but I wouldn’t mind us winning some games.

I don’t think ‘what happens the rest of the season’ is going to impact Cragg’s decision. Barring an Alabama situation or a big east tournament win followed by a win or two in the NCAA, I think the decision one way or another has been made.

Also, this may be too cynical and I may just be upset within AC, but for some reason, I felt when he and Jones were on the court together that’s when Gtown 3’s started falling. Probably just a coincidence, but it does seems like those two get lost a lot on D and it leads to open shots. Heck I’m probably just upset at his behavior, he did trap well and didn’t do too many ‘WTH Curbelo’ plays.

I can’t imagine a situation where MA thinks ‘man playing Curbelo will save my job’. More likely he just feels 3 games was enough of a punishment. AC doesn’t make the team markedly better and I know Cragg isn’t going to say beating Gtown was the data we needed to know you’re the right man for the job.

We can debate the correct disciplinary actions for sure, but I’d rather see some discipline for conduct detrimental to the team than no discipline for accessory to murder.

If I was the coach and he pulled that Media Room thing he'd be done for the year.

That was so disrespectful not just to the coach but to the entire University.

If you ask me the inmates are running the asylum.

Normally I’m for second chances, but I get your point and agree that CMA would have been well in his right to remove him from the team. I that being said I don’t he is linking playing AC to keeping his job.

as has been alluded to, there appears to be some mental health matters that we are certainly not privy to.

i have to imagine CMA and the department are treading very carefully.

In that case, I hope that St. John’s is setting him up with the right people to help him. St. John’s did right by D’Lo and D’Lo worked really had to take advantage of the help St. JOHN’s/ John Lucas provided. I hope AC is equally as receptive to receiving the help. Also, I’m happy MA or anyone at St. John’s didn’t publicly speak on it. All people including athletes deserve their medical privacy.
 
CMA should remove himself from the team for not knowing when to take timeouts. ;)

I think the big question is, as you mentioned, is Curbelo receptive to receiving help? D'Lo was, we'll see it AC is. I sure hope so for his sake, and I'm not talking about for basketball reasons.

D'Lo was anger issues, right? I think it's relatively easy for angry people to actually recognize their problem -- they know they are angry. Whatever Curbelo's problem is, he may not even recognize it as a problem.
 
I’ve said it before curbelo is like a Dennis Rodman they need the right person around them to channel their uncontrolled energy. Bball aside he seems like a riot to hang out with though.

Yes, but the damage done by Curbelo is a lot worse than Pinzon. I don't believe that allowing Curbelo to rejoin the team isn't about taking whatever chance is necessary to finish strong in the eyes of the admin. Why else would he allow a player to rejoin after repeatedly disrespecting the team staff

What some see as disrespectful may be a cultural misunderstanding of this player's background.
As a point guard and offensive player, I will say he is more natural at the position than Posh who has seemingly regressed. Defensively, they both have a tendency to lose their man.
This kid will play overseas one day. Posh will not.

Players are nort barred from attending post game pressers. They can be selected to take the podium with the coach at his discretion. Anderson goes solo.
When did he mock the coach?? You may be confusing him with Pinzon.
Having a Puerto Rican in the family, I assure you I am not stereotyping. The Bomba is the national dance of Borinquens and I have seen him doing it before games.
Yes, I agree Andre does not listen to Richie Valens as he was a Chicano from L.A.
He is a big fan of Bad 🐰.
