Curbelo

Zach reporting that Curbelo practicing and traveling with the team to Providence
This has to be a joke right? This punk goes into the stands and then sneaks into the news conference and disrespects the coach and team and no punishment? He just practices with the team and is flying with the team to Providence? WTFFFFFFFFFF
This make CMA look weak, I just lost half the respect I had for him, he Curbelo plays then I lose all respect for him.

You suppose to set an example that you don't disrespect the coach and team then expect no punishment.

Desperate times call for desperate measures

What else would you do as a coach when your million dollar job is on the line? This is a business not High school.

Probably easier said than done. Thought we were in no position to turn down talent. Still not convinced as a player he is our biggest issue. But certainly fair to believe that he has caused some on court struggles.

This potential off the course stuff is a different story and if it is in fact as blatant as him going into the press conference and broadcasting it himself, it’s a serious problem and cause for potential dismissal. At least serious consideration.
Agree with this. If this posting of the photo with caption is true, it indicates far worse problems in connection with this young man's life skills, ie gross lack of judgment and awareness, than anything related to basketball.

Wrong!!!
His lack of judgment and awareness happen while he is on the court playing BASKETBALL.

What would I do if I was Mike, with the money Mike has which I'm sure is in the Millions.

First: SJU isn't make the NCAA tournament anyway, so I'd be thinking I'm done after this season anyway.

Now, what I'd do is tell him to stay away from the team for the next 3 games, then maybe just maybe I'll let you be on the team again, and if you're seen in the locker room or another press conference of Mikes then you'll certainly never play here again.

Want to fire me mis season for canning Curbelo after being a punk, then go right ahead, but when my mind is made it's a done deal.
No one disrespect the team. That's the bottom line.

They don't fly to Providence

Maybe I just am not up to date on social media and it's rules and norms, but I'm not seeing this entire thing as some major transgression. Curbelo didn't steal a freight train. I'm not sure what the crying emojis mean. Maybe it's the team crying. Maybe Curbelo's crying. Could be I'm not in tune with the mindset that someone that does something a little off putting should be kicked to the curb.

I don't know, lets see. He takes a picture of coach at a news conference, puts the 3 crying emojis on the bottom of the bottom of the picture.
Maybe I'm just assuming and could be wrong, but I believe it's him trolling Anderson as if Anderson is crying and whining.

Again though maybe I'm just assuming to much.

Not to get technical about emojis, but the one that was used was laughing to the point of tears. There is a different emoji for crying. However some use them interchangeable, so not much to decipher here.

When I saw the pic with the emojis, my first thought was he was making fun of how little media presence was there, basically laughing because nobody cares what coach has to say.

The press conferences with Mike Anderson are tedious. Mike never admits that he is responsible for the losses. Always has an excuses. Why not tell the truth I’m trying to figure out rotations. And when the competition has a run i have no answer for it .

I guess Anderson doesn't mind being clowned by a punk, oh well.
In the long run who is actually being clowned. Regardless of this season Mike Anderson has had a long successful coaching career, is a great family man and even if he does leave St John’s will find a landing somewhere. On the other hand what are Andre’s future prospects. Coaching is extremely difficult and in addition to teaching skills you must manage numerous personalities. We on this board don’t know the actual relationship between coach and this athlete and what was said to Andre by coach after this incident

Oh I'm sure Curbello knew that all he had to do was say "I'm sorry" and all would be forgiving and he'd play

The latest Red Storm Report, airing today at 4:30 PM on MSG Network, will feature a story on Curbelo. Will also repeat on Saturday at 12:30 PM and will be available online after being shown on MSG. Should be interesting.

Per Zach B

Junior guard Andre Curbelo (coach’s decision) was inactive. St. John’s coach Mike Anderson declined to offer an explanation and was noncommittal on his status for the game Tuesday at DePaul. Curbelo was previously suspended one game for disciplinary reasons.
