Curbelo

Hope Curbelo gets his head straight, but let’s be honest, he adversely affects team chemistry with his “me first” flashy nonsense. Frankly I hope his teammates have some positive experiences in remaining games, but can’t see Andre being a key to accomplishing that. Hope to be wrong, but evidence to date points that way.
So here's a young man who is not only having issues off the court, but seems to be detrimental to the team when he's on the court. Thats a tough 1-2 punch for CMA to take. Can't say there weren't rumblings when he was in Illinois. Hope the kids gets himself right for his sake, but as far as the team goes, it may be time for them to move forward with out him.

Had listened to this a while back. Obviously rumors abound when a kid is out longer then expected and/or for a mystery illness. In hindsight, the questioned raised by the podcaster seem to have had some merit.

Maybe this all stems from the concussion issues. IDK what his attitude/antics were like at LUHi and 1st year at Illinois, but sometimes the post concussion situation can have real long term effects. I just hope Andre finds the help he may need and winds up in a good place.

I was at the FSU game and watched him go in the stands after the game and take lots of pictures with people who seemed to know him. He was very patient and polite with everyone. Seemed like a nice young man. As did the other players who hung around for pictures. Hopefully things work out.

That was a very eye opening podcast. Not only did the questions raised by the guy seem to have some merit, he was 100% accurate in saying where Curbelo would end up. Thanks for putting this up.

I can’t imagine any major program would take him given: (1) his poor play; and (2) disciplinary issues. I was being cheeky with my reference to Fordham, but would think his options would be limited to a mid-major at this point.

I have no idea what he was suspended for. I’m too old to decipher cryptic Instagram messages with crying emojis, but if he did in fact sneak into the press conference and post a picture disrespecting CMA, I agree that he faces an uphill battle making amends.
I think he's done at a major program was well. Just hard to tell sometimes how tongue in cheek a post is.

I think he'll go lower level than A-10, somewhere he will look good even if he doesn't rein in the flash.

Any coach agreeing to meet with him should lay down the law right from the start though.

Not sure how tough CMA is in private, but this stuff is making him look weak in public.

so is curbelo done at st. john's?
If he indeed snuck his way into the game unbeknownst to the staff AND stealthy (and purposely) took a picture of Anderson's press conference, along with adding several "crying" emojis to insinuate his coach is crying/whining after a loss.... Not to mention, regularly exhibiting poor body language throughout the season.... If he isn't gone, then I'd expect suspension for numerous games.

This guy’s premise that Curbelo couldn’t be suffering from concussion symptoms bc he attended the games is patently ridiculous. Plenty of players held out for concussion-related issues attend the games on the sidelines. I believe our own Rasheem Dunn was at the games while he was being held out.

His premise wasn't based purely on the fact that he was sitting on the sidelines, there was a lot more too it as you know. Not saying he's right(or wrong), just saying that there were rumblings about Curbelo long before he got here. Obviously everyone is free to draw their own conclusion

PS Nice of you to be signing so many autographs before the game yesterday

Watched Purdue-Ohio St and now watching Indiana-Iowa. These 4 teams stockpile shooters like they're about to go on the endangered specie list. We can't find one. WTF????
Agreed 1000% Monte. I’ve said it in multiple posts. Give me shooters any day. Give me guys who can score the ball and as a coach I will figure out the rest. You watch a lot of these quality teams and they all have multiple guys who can knock down shots , and like you said, we can find one. How’s this possible? It’s the type of player that CMA recruits. He recruits players for a style of play that he doesn’t even employ anymore.

We don't even need Larry Bird-type shooters.
Just give me five Chris Mullins and we're bound to finish in the top half of the BE.
