@Creighton, Sat., Jan. 13, 1p, FOX

As much as today sucks I am confident in this season big time we have lost 2 league games both on the road to ranked teams one by 4 and one by 1 point. I think we will come out and take a road game Tuesday Seton Hall has been on a roll they are overdue for a beating!
Today stings. But for some reason I feel confident we hand Seton Hall a beating next week.

I understand this took place during a last second scramble on the road so it is tough to make that call, but by rule jump shooters cannot have their landing area effected to this degree. It’s a foul. Sucks

Feels like Rick wanted Ledlums rebounding toughness out there for crunch time. But I really wish RJ was in on the last possession. Take out dingle there.
I don’t think that’s a call you make on a fade away the last play. The refs also do their homework and know full well DJ doesn’t draw fouls and will fade away on his shot. He likely won’t get that call once in that situation in conference games. If he jumptops, does a ball-fake and leans into the defender, he gets the call.

It’s like how umpires give guys with reputations for having a good eye the benefit of the doubt on a close pitch.

Going into BE play, especially after BC loss, everybody would have signed up for 4-2 with close losses on road to Conn & Creighton. Just brutal how we had a chance to win both those games and came up empty in both.

Team clearly on right track but even with HOF coach, not absurd to think losing streaks are a possibility given how competitive the league is.
Was just think that we gotta win on Tuuesday night, can' let losing become a habit.

It was Dingle that got fouled

I’m referring to the last second shot from Dingle. By rule he should’ve been given two free throws. His landing spot was egregiously impacted by the defender

I expected to lose by 15. I thought we played very well.

Our second unit playing with Ledlum and Alleyne went on a 10-0 run in the second half and 14-5 overall.

Wilcher looked very good until he didn’t. Pitino probably has to have a quicker trigger there because I’m sure we were all thinking the same thing. That lazy pass he made just didn’t make any sense at all. And he was really showing off his potential before that…noticeably the quickest player on the court showing good passing instincts.

I thought Jenkins and Luis were the only guys who were loose and willing to shoot at the end. I think it’s a chicken and egg argument…maybe they’d be looser and more comfortable shooting if Jenkins didn’t take 17 shots and dominate the ball? The three Jenkins made near the end was huge but it was also a terrible shot on so many levels. His confidence is absolutely insane.

We will have to decide if we are okay with our season ending by a difficult off-balance jumper by Jenkins, because that is 100% how it will end unless Luis steps in.

I’d rather Dingle be in there running the final play personally, but if he’s not going to facilitate get him out for Luis. Luis draws the most hard contact, draws the most help, he’s the toughest matchup, and he can get a shot off at will like Jenkins. Let 3-4 others crash glass recklessly.

Yeah, I thought that was the Jenkins shot looking at it quickly on my phone.

I don’t think you make that call on Dingle either. Technically it’s a foul, but you’ve really got to earn it on the last play IMO. It was a last second prayer too.

The refs were terrible overall, but I don’t have any issue in that last possession.

It’s not an easy call. But if there’s no contact do you think that shots a prayer for Dingle? The combination of everything that second half is what makes it tough.

This was a good Creighton team and we had the ball and a chance to win. The foul dispsrity was sick. Who ever goes into the last minute of a physical neck and neck game with two fouls to give while they are in the double bonus for a good chunk of 2nd half. It turned 10 seconds into 4 and the refs swallowed their whistles.

No embarrassment. We move onbc as a team that lost away to two ofthe best teams in the country in 1 possession games.

That would be mor impressive than if we won today’s game for certain!

Schierman played 40 minutes , Kallenbrenner played 38 as did Alexander Ashworth 31 .

Their core 5 played a lot more minutes than ours did . They should have been running them off the floor in the last 10 minutes but , didn’t .

We got a lot of points off our Bench but , our Top players couldn’t deliver down the stretch .

And , let’s deal with a harsh reality here . Dingle and Ledlum were our top Draft choices in the portal this season .

Combined they scored 11 points today and as Rick says “ you have to make those mid range shots , especially uncontested ones .”

And other than Dunlap who tried to go on a gimpy ankle , we have no reliable sharp shooter from 3 , As evidenced by todays stats. 2 for 11 , I think it was . That’s not BE quality .

Yes , the Refs home courted us today but , we blew a 9 point 2 nd half lead and frankly we stunk in crunch time. Missing 7 out of last 8 shots if I recall .

This game was there for the taking , even with the Refs , but came up short in our late game performance .

Kalkenbrenner outplayed Joel . That was obvious .and he played those 38 minutes . Joel should have eaten his lunch down the stretch .

Do you mean "...if Luis steps up."?
