@Creighton, Sat., Jan. 13, 1p, FOX

our defense held them to 31 in the second half; 13 of which were from the line. in the final 10 minutes they scored more than half their points from the line. pitiful officiating driving the outcome of the game.

dingle was fouled on that last shot, but we've all seen it called either way in that situation. the missed foul against jenkins when he was coming out of the pack with the rebound was the worst missed call of the game; would have been a whistle if it was on the other end of the court. that changed the game and would have likely put us in line for the w.

the dingle missed three is what sank the ship, though. wide open at the top of the key; that is a shot he has to make. sick to my stomach after this one, but i'll trade this loss if we can dismantle the hall in NJ.

Total ref screw job. Love Coach but why was RJ not in the last few possessions? He is one of only guys that can create his own shot and also great on offensive boards. Think that was a big mistake. With that said, make the Dingle foul call ….horrible job by these three refs all game!

As was allenyes
Alleyne missed two really big shots. Is it fair for us to ask him to take just 5 shots all game until the last minute and then save us? How do you stay loose that way? He averaged double figures at Va Tech over his 3 year career.

His defense was beyond awesome. He ate Alexander’s lunch and then at the end of the game he rushed out to Farabello all alone in the corner in secondary transition and closed out on him so well he completely stopped the shot.

It terms of it being a good game…… BS the game was crap, played poorly by both teams. It came down making actual foul calls and that determined the game. Our kids played like crap as did theirs. We missed big shots all day, Soriano played small, Jenkins couldn’t make most of his shots, Dunlap was a zero, Wilcher played a few good minutes but it caught up to him as a 9 point lead went to 3 within seconds. Taylor didn’t even put up a shot,

Bright spots….. Zuby played better they Soriano, Dingle in first half, Ledlum came on late with a great block and some big stops.

Big mistake by coach was not putting Ledlum on Schierman sooner as he scored like 5 straight baskets or went to foul shots.

With all that…… the game was for the taking and we had a three point lead late but REFS MADE SURE JOHNNIES COULDNT WIN.

I didn't get to see the game other than last 9 seconds but an awful lot of negativity for a game we lost by 1 point to #22 team on the road who routinely has beaten us by double digits. I thought Jenkins got a very good look on last shot, sometimes they go in sometimes they don't. Beat Hall on Tuesday.

Hell of an effort, yes you can blame the refs but we got some calls too. What I come back to is Alleyne failing to take a 10 footer with about two minutes left and we end up with him shooting a three as the shot clock expired. Afraid to shoot.
That was a great 3 though. One of his best looks of the season.

I understand this took place during a last second scramble on the road so it is tough to make that call, but by rule jump shooters cannot have their landing area effected to this degree. It’s a foul. Sucks

Feels like Rick wanted Ledlums rebounding toughness out there for crunch time. But I really wish RJ was in on the last possession. Take out dingle there.

Unless there’s massive improvement, I think Dingle ends up getting the short end of the stick with rotations.

Worst play was Witcher’s give away pass.
Wilcher made two lazy passes that turned into baskets for Creighton. He’s been doing it all year. Although he’s improved in other areas those lazy passes have to stop. He’s not going to get away with that at this level. This is why even though the refs were bad there were instances where we made mistakes or missed wide open looks and if one time we don’t we win this game. I’m not blaming the loss on him but if Wilcher is strong with the ball and his passing we win this game. If Dingle makes that three or if one of Alleyne’s shots go down we win. When you’re on the road as an unranked team against a ranked team you have to win the game, you have to take it from them. You’re not going to beat the champ on a decision if it’s very close, you have to take it. Win that last round decisively or knock him out. We didn’t do that even though I’m super proud of our team and how they battled.

If was opposite and we got called for that we would be mad
If was original shot gets called, was on a scramble..
He got fouled, but refs are not going to call that especially on the road.
I wish the had called it but understood why they didn’t.
You are right that the last non call on Dingle does not get called typically and certainly not on the road. That said, the non call on the blatant foul on Jenkins after his likely game deciding rebound was egregious. That was the ball game there!! Swallowing the whistle there was pretty absurd and is the reason to feel like the game was taken by the refs.

It shouldn't get lost that when we were up nine we got careless, starting with a very bad Wilcher turnover. The lack of Alleyne and Dingle knocking down open looks down the stretch was a killer too.

However, despite all of that, the non-call on Scheierman fouling Jenkins after Jenkins gets the decisive rebound sticks out as the moment that the game was yanked from us by the refs!

Kudos to the team for their effort, but it sucks to lose yet again at Creighton. Hopefully a win at Seton Hall (where we never win either) will take the bad taste of this tough loss out of our mouths.

Alleyne is a big asset…Also, thought Zuby did a better job on Kalkbrenner than Soriano

Thought Jenkins was fouled but also thought he was outhustled for the ball
