Coaching Changes

@AdamZagoria: Source confirmed to @SNYtv Steve Lavin and San Francisco AD Scott Sidwell had a productive meeting this past wknd in NY

When planning their budget, San Francisco needs to factor in Lavin's salary and buyout

Wonder if their fans are furiously reading redmen.com! ;)

Or if Brandon Sampson is packing his bags. :)

Lav lets Runn #REBELWITHACAUSE

Yeah with Lav there the phrase What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas will have new meaning for the cloud of smoke.

interesting to see if he can recruit there. couldn't coach at UCLA or St. John's without the four star players.

Kind of funny to see how we now sound very much like UCLA fans in 2010 when they heard St Johns was hiring their old coach.

Similar to Jed Bush withdrawing his name. Rutgers had little or no interest in him as a HC.

Per Goodman;
Milwaukee's Rob Jeter has been fired. One of the more surprising ones thus far.

Heard on the Seawolves grapevine that Piekiell very unlikely to be back next year. Couple big programs already sniffing around, some who still have a coach.

He deserves it. He did a really nice job with StonyBrook. Time for him to get a new opportunity and a great entry level job for a newcomer.

Rutgers is now targeting Iona Coach Tim Cluess as its top option, sources tell @SNYtv. Highly regarded coach whose team lost today to ISU.

Terrible choice, if it's true. And one that Rutgers fans aren't thrilled with.

Wins 68% and makes the tournament 3 out of 5 years. If that's terrible, what's good?

Shit, I'd settle for horrendous

Cluess is a good coach and a class act. He's deserving, but I hope he doesn't take Rutgers. That's just a bad job right now.

He did that in a 2nd tier conference with first tier transfers. Won't work in the B1G nor will his total lack of defense.

His critics on this board doubted he would win at the D1 level. They doubted that he could get talent. He proved them wrong.

This same 2nd tier league that he has pretty much owned recently produced Cooley and Willard. Both have done well in the BE.

He's earned the opportunity.

He may have earned the opportunity, but I just don't think it's a good fit -- for him, or for that program, which is in shambles. Aside from negatives already pointed out, it's just a gut feeling. We'll see ... if he gets the job, that is.
