Coaching Changes

I was President of the Archie Miller fan club last season, and he was the guy I wanted for St. John's. While I'm very happy with the way things have turned out, Miller is now in the NCAA Tournament for the third season in a row, and overall sports a 115-54 (.680) in five seasons at Dayton.

I'd be shocked once again if after this season is over he doesn't leave for a premiere job. I think he is an outstanding young coach (37-years-old).

Herb Sendek in the mix at Santa Clara, sources told ESPN.

Funny you should say that, because I've heard he's Stanford's top choice.

For their sake I hope the new coach can resume the tradition of getting giant twin brothers to come and play in front of a tree.

my brother suffered the only loss of his senior year against the collins twins in the state championship game. It's tough for a 6'5 center to guard 2 7 foot centers.

Are you from San Mateo County?

Gotta think Sean would have mixed emotions about that. Great to have his brother closer by and renew sibling rivalry...but now competing more directly for recruits....that said I am sure there would not be a significant overlap because some kids Sean recruits Archie probably couldn't and conversely some Archie recruits may only want more elite academic institutions. Would be a great move fr Archie.

St Johns actually did Lavin a huge favor by firing him when it did, instead of a year or two later (or earlier) when he would be coming off of a couple of consecutive sucky seasons and his career would be definitely over. Now having left on the heels of making the tourney, some dumb AD who doesn't really have an eye for the X&Os of basketball will give him another shot.

Blow to rukiddingme as they really wanted a Jersey guy. I expect he looked at his current Roster, looked at theirs and the uphill battle he was going to face and said no mas. Probably will get a bump in pay from RI.

When planning their budget, San Francisco needs to factor in Lavin's salary and buyout

interesting to see if he can recruit there. couldn't coach at UCLA or St. John's without the four star players.

Just the other day I heard Whitehead tell him on national TV that he's an excellent recruiter.

The man can sell.
