Coaching Changes

Per Gary Parrish

UAB has now interviewed Steve Lavin, Jason Terry, Chuck Person, Robert Ehsan and Matt Driscoll. At least.

April Fools was two days ago

Per Vin Parise

"I love what I'm doing & very grateful for the great people @ Fox; but if it fit, I wouldn't rule out a return to coaching." @SteveLavin64

Birmingham needs "teachers"?

I'm sure Mrs. Lavin would love living there.

Per Gary Parrish;

Duke assistant Jeff Capel has removed his name from consideration at Georgia Tech, a source told @CBSSports. Story coming.[/

I would make Greg Marshall an offer he couldn't refuse if I was The AD at GT.

I believe GT is involved with the Valpo coach.

Valpo coach, Bryce Drew, agreed to terms with Vandy.

I think there are only a handful of offers Marshall couldn't refuse. I think texas would have intrigued him but they went with Smart. Indiana would have intrigued him, but Crean saved his own butt this season. Not sure when the next huge job opens, but I don't think GT is huge.

You are correct GT isn't a "big" job at the moment but a coach like Marshall could bring back the Bobby Cremins days.

Marshall is a Son of the South, and at 53 is the right age particularly when one factors in that guys like Roy Williams (age 65), Mike Krzyzewski (age 69), Jim Boehiem (age 71) and Jim Larranaga (age 66) will not be coaching forever and that The ACC could see a shift with the aforementioned retirements in the not too distant future.

Not saying he would take the job bus if I was The AD I would make it very difficult ($$$) for him to turn down.

GT has a lot to offer for the right guy.

BREAKING: @CalMensBBall's Cuonzo Martin is a prime target for Georgia Tech's head-coaching vacancy, per sources. http://www.sfchronicle.com/news/art...232608.php?t=a2d96eda6c&cmpid=twitter-premium

Seems like a downgrade, especially with academics and the campus at Cal.

He's crazy if he leaves. The only reason i could see is if he knew more about his former assistant's transgressions and lied about them to the administration and the walls are now closing in. But if that were the case, the new school could always opt to rescind the offer.

I forgot about that. Could definitely have a factor in his decision.

Per Goodman

Cal’s Cuonzo Martin is not a candidate at Georgia Tech, sources told ESPN.

Stony Brook names OSU assistant Jeff Boals as new head coach.

He looks more like a physics professor than a basketball coach
I wish him well - I thought Jay Young should have gotten the job

It's being reported that Young will be going to Rutgers with Pikiell. I'm assuming he chose this path after not getting the job at Stony Brook.

Per Goodman: Memphis' Josh Pastner will become the next coach at Georgia Tech.

The white Paul Hewitt. Think the fans end up disappointed most seasons.

Tech should have gone with JSJ's idea and opened the vault for Marshall. What's the point of having football money if you are just going to make hires that most people already know will end in disappointment?
