Coaching Carousel

Up next, Danny Hurley. An excellent candidate, BTW, for the reasons somebody (perhaps SJU1512) previously outlined.

best thing to ever happen to a coach is St. John's sniffing around immediate raise and extension.
Donovan,Hewitt,Hurley,Miller, the list goes on and on.

Lawman agree about Danny Hurley but wouldn't Seton Hall have the wisdom to get involved and offer Danny the job, I am shocked they are not making a play for him now. Why hold on to Kevin Willard?

Providence has 2 alums that are great coaches that they failed to acquire over the years. I wonder would Seton Hall make the same mistake.

I think SH would have to fire their AD first and isn't there some bad blood with Danny and SHU?

You can have Danny. I caught the last 5 minutes of URI-Stanford in NIT Sunday, he is a complete lunatic. He was screaming and pointing at the refs the whole time I watched. The announcers even said they were afraid for his health. It was bad enough that the one announcer said he was embarrassing himself and the school, that coaches shouldn't act that way. I'm for fiey but feel his act would wear thin.

SJU will NEVER touch a guy like that. This is one of the things in Lavin's favor. I think they like how he carries himself.

I will take a coach who knows what he's looking at, cares about winning, and shows some fire. Nothing wrong with getting the occasional T. IMHO the refs treat Lavin with zero respect because he doesn't know how to ride them. I can think of a half dozen times he should have gotten himself T-ed up and didn't.

I've seen Lavin ride the refs. Just because he doesn't get a T, doesn't mean he doesn't ride them at certain points. Now we are putting the guy down be use he doesn't hurt the team by getting T-ed up? What's next, how he dresses...oh wait. ;)

Next coach we get, I will make sure I'm against him from day one. That will make reading idiotic posts much easier on my psyche.

No, next up is where he eats and who he's married to, which is the real reason Andy Enfield hasn't even been considered as a viable candidate. :)

The way things are going at Seton Hall, they make SJU look like Goldman Sachs.

Just to recap......

While demonstrating complete incompetence, St. John's has provided other colleges with sufficient time to negotiate healthy contract extensions with their sought after coaches.

We Are.......ridiculous.

@DavidPJablonski: Archie Miller gets a contract extension through 2021-22 season. Here's what he told me about that a few minutes ago.http://t.co/KuATg0Zuqg

sounds like a happy guy...good for him...i think SJ is either working on Mullin or will stay w/Lavin...doesnt seem like anyother options unless they ae exploring D Hurley...

either way tomorrow needs to be the day...not fair to Lavin or to the recruiing effort

If Mullin, I dont think Slice as assistant is that far off...he will win title this year and will never get credit for recruiting at KY...plus as an assistant at SJ he is closer to getting back to a HC position...
