Coaching Carousel

Everyone is waiting for Odom domino to fall. I guess thinking we were a career killer was a smart decision after all.

I think Skinn might get a real long look by Villanova.

Some Trilly updates for those interested

Villanova is a matter of when not if in regards to announcing Neptune's firing.
Chris Collins, Porter Moser, Malik Allen, Richard Pitino, Ryan Odom in the mix there. Richard would angle hard for it if Odom ends up at UVA.

Not done yet but NC State and Will Wade have advanced to the negotiation stage of talks.

Takayo Siddle from UNCW is the favorite for the USF job. The current UNCW AD was most recently at UConn so that could end up being the landing spot for Kimani Young or Bill Murray's kid.
Wade-NC State is a no brainer fit. I really like those names for Nova. Allen has been a NBA assistant for 10+ years now.

I don't know how excited that fan base will be with Collins or Moser but they'll definitely be major upgrades over Neptune. If Collins does end up getting Villanova then Moser likely takes NW.

I honestly think they should be excited about either one. Their coaching competence would improve a lot, and both guys would have a lot more NIL resources than they have right now.

Can't picture Moser there at all. I thought Jay had a good sense of humor but could be serious when he needed to be. I picture Moser as 100 percent goofball all the time and I'm not even sure why.

On a side note, for some reason I also say the name Porter Moser using the voice of the Simpsons' Comic Book Guy, and once again I'm not sure why. I have literally never done that with any other name on the planet.

It seems like all the head coaches have landed fully on their feet, but Book still doesn't have a D1 job.
I know what you mean. He is running the Gauchos program which is not the program it was (neither is Riverside) in the 70’s - 2000 nor. D1 college program.

Are any of the assistant coaches named in that scandal working in D1 now? I could be ring but I don’t think so.

Obviously Kyle is out at Nova.

Look I persinally like him.

But this is a results oriented business. He knew the deal, with a great job comes expectations. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

Thamel says Odom, Kevin Willard-really? and Richard Pitino.

Would Rick and his son want to coach vs each other in same conference?

Chris Collins

Thamel was just on ESPN says Rodney Terry job status at Texas is in flux. Even if they slide into Tourney may not save him.

Also said again two names he keeps hearing for Nova are Pitino Jr and Willard.

And I can tell you I heard from someone I trust that the Willard to Nova thing is not crazy.

Can you imagine that? What a kick in the teeth for SHU fans that would be...?

The biggest reason I can think of for Kevin to leave a really good situation at Maryland would be the travel.

Maybe he hates the bi-coastal travel he has to do once a year. This year to the northwest to play Oregon and UW.

Next year it will be to LA to play UCLA and USC.

At this point in his career/life gotta think they may enjoy getting to spend two games a year together as much as I’m sure it’s hard to handle in the moment!

I always thought Willard was an underrated successor option to Pitino, especially with how they’re performing this year + his obvious Pitino ties + being a New Yorker. Nova job would make that moot
