A lot of people did not want to give him the credit for being the first to report this. He clearly had someone who knew.

They shot for the moon with Brad Stevens and got turned down as everybody knew they would. Not sure if they had any interest in a guy like Mick Cronin but he has an exorbitant buyout that would make it difficult for any school to poach him. I'm surprised McDermott didn't get more of a look there but sounds like they were down to DeVries and McCollum and chose DeVries. Wonder what that means for Texas for when they get rid of Rodney Terry two years too late

Kentucky hired Mark Pope and Louisville hired Pat Kelsey. Solid hires but hardly blow your mind type of hires for two top 10 and in the case of Kentucky certainly a top 2 or 3 job.

He's a jerk, but the guy can definitely coach a mid-major with nice NIL to a conference championship and average 85 ppg.

I suspect he realizes this and is surveying which jobs will fit as soon as there is a bunch of movement.

Could probably kill it at Texas too. If I'm a Creighton fan I'm not resting easy until that job is filled . . . and then I worry about the school that just lost their coach to Texas if they are a big name too.

His shutting down his son for a medical redshirt year / declining the players Era tourney for WVU / coinciding with the woodson announcement...

Looks like this was agreed to mid year-ish.... cant pretend to be surprised... but rough for WVU fans...
