Coaching Carousel

They are morons then if he is willing to take the job. Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could see what he accomplished with peanuts for NIL.
He’s done well at the Hall but if I were Ville that’s a risky move to hire a young coach who has 2 NITs in his 2 years in the big leagues after the Kenny Payne experiment went array. He stepped into a Hall program that basically lived in the NCAA for half a decade.

Then again I take Sha over Kelsey or these other mid major guys.

Coach Holloway has proven himself at St Peter's and Seton Hall. We all know that Seton Hall should have been in the NCAA Tournament this year. All the nonsense about his age and name recognition is just plain Bullshit. I believe that if Louisville were to pass on Coach Holloway it would be a mistake. Rick Pitino ain't going back.

Coach Holloway is 47 years old with a solid reputation as a recruiter and head coach. If he is seriously interested in the Louisville job, I don't believe there is a better candidate available.

If anyone needed further proof, this year at SHU cemented his bona fides IMO. Recruiting has changed completely, most coaches need to identify targets, money men need to reel them in; not 100% of course but close. Holloway would be an incredible pickup for Louisville, much to SHU and the BE’s loss.

I am hoping that Holloway is a Seton Hall lifer. It would be a major outlier in today's game. But that's where he belongs.

Also although he's a tremendous coach the grass is not always greener and I am not sure how his approach would translate to Louisville.

Louisville will probably triple his NIL budget in one day. Also fair to wonder how much of Halloway's potential we would see at a SHU vs. Louisville

The single reason Seton Hall is a better program than Louisville is because of Holloway.

In no other way does it make sense because Seton Hall cannot match Louisville’s facilities, rabid fan base, and of course NIL potential.

Louisville has made bad hires since Pitino. If this does happen, then Louisville will change that. Holloway will consistently take them to NCAA tournaments.

I always thought Holloway would eventually leave. It is great to be the underdog and have your team overachieve, but that only goes so far.

As much as I hate every single Big East opposition voach when we play them, the league is loaded with very good to great coaches that I respect immensely.

I get Louisville is a much better job but idk just can’t picture Holloway there. Don’t see him leaving Seton Hall which he loves quite yet. But could be wrong.

I like Holloway but seems like an odd fit at this point in his career.
Big change going from small, private to large public where college bball is the life of the town beside horses, especially one that is so disjointed.

Can’t argue with success. No coach gets their team to play any harder than Coach H. In a year where his team was at a big disadvantage in overall talent, he got 13 wins in the Big East and a win over UConn. To myself and many he was the Big East COY. If he gets the Louisville job and brings some talent in (I’m sure their NIL is plentiful) watch out.

Seems like this would be a tough blow for Seton Hall. Holloway has done a good job and he is one of their own. All that being said, I am not sure of the “fit“ at Louisville. It will not be easy to get them back in the mix in the ACC. Holloway would be crazy not to take the bag.

However, If a picture of impatience was in the dictionary Louisville fan pictures would be used to illustrate. Crum and Pitino are tough acts to follow. This job swallowed Kenny Payne whole. Two years 12-52 and goodbye. The expectation would be very high Year One. Duke and North Carolina ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Halloway to Louisville can also have interesting implications for STJ. Who replaces him there? Speedy?

Also, what if it doesn't work out at Louisville and he's gone in five years. Maybe there'll be a spot here by then... I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Holloway is no Kenny Payne. Kenny Payne was terrible and that had nothing to do with Louisville.
Agreed but …I am just suggesting that Holloway should be careful. I think he will have many chances at other attractive jobs. Resurrecting an ACC program that has zero patience could hurt his career. They expect 5 star recruits and National Championships ASAP. Holloway is a fine Coach but will he win major recruiting battles against UNC and Duke etc. ?

For the good of the conference I hope he stays. Also might be a risk for Louisville in that not a lot of experience and the NIL world there will be much different
