Yes but Dauster is talking about Hurley going to PC not Pitino.

I have it on good authority that Pitino and PC is not happening despite legit good feelings for PC by Rick.
I really don’t think he was referring to Hurley and Prov. Take his brothers rival?

Regardless hope your second point is right.

Good memory Mike. Craziest thing. July 1, 2004 watching Yankees v Red Sox Jeter makes crazy catch in stands and Flaherty wins game in extras and Pitino at the bar with family.

But no we don't have each other's numbers.
That was 19 years ago ? Jesus time flies I can’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday now :)

Sounds like it was a fun night.

Maybe posturing, but Rick is quoted in an ESPN article:

"Pitino, who has been linked to open positions at St. John's and Georgetown, quipped that "you're not hired by the Internet" when asked about potential coaching opportunities away from Iona."

Pitino open to coaching 10 more years and it will take a special place for him to consider leaving Iona -

Cooley is already the highest paid coach in the Big East at $3.8 million per year. Providence did right by him in a clear effort to keep him long term. For him to walk is one thing, but leaving for a conference rival would be quite a gut punch.

Villanova’s Kyle Neptune is paid $4,4 Million per year. That is nearly $17,000 per day which would give you incentive to wake up each morning.

I was never his biggest fan. Very good coach, but he seemed to master the Boeheim art of whining and complaining.

Ugh, would kill me if Pitino went to Providence. You all have to admit, that would be very SJU. Can’t remember the last time this program caught a break.
