Good point. I was thinking about the age element. Both those guys have 10+ years on Neptune. If they go to Fordham and don't succeed, that's probably the only HC shot they get. I think Kimani may get a better opportunity at a stronger program in due time, where there is a greater chance of success. For Van, I think there are local mid-majors that give him a better chance to be successful and have stability. Fordham is a tough job in that league. But that's also rolling the dice that those opportunities come along.Kyle Neptune left the best coach in the BE for that job.
But Kimani and Van would not leave UCONN or SJU for a HC job in NYC in the A-10? Really?
For a young guys like Neptune who wants to be a HC, even if he didn't do well at Fordham he could have caught on as a high-major assistant again and been young enough to reestablish himself for another HC opportunity.
I'd have to think Fordham reaches out to Grasso too, no?
