Christian Jones

Christian Jones is agreat leaper.and is very quick. He knows when the BB is coming to him or makes his own shot.. He attacks the rim with a vengeance.guess Coach Lavin found diamond in the rough.Go redmen.

No iI never saw Chris play I likes the vidio that MJDinkins put up on the screen,. He also has good mid range shot. Lavin got a eye for diamonds in the rough.

At 6'7" 230 his size and muscle should also help us up front when needed.

Wood isn't on the scholarship chart on rumbleinthegarden. Did he officially not qualify? Thus reclassifying to 2013?? I've been a little busy lately so I haven't been in the loop. Obviously this makes the CJ signing that much more important. Good stuff Lav

For those concerned that C Jones is an off the radar recruit-Alabama is now recruiting a 6'6 WR who Rivals doesn't even list and Scout gives no stars to in football. His name is DeRunnya Wilson and has been playing PF for his HS hoop team and was discovered by a bama assissstant coach.

ok this makes alot more sense now, jones is way to talented to be stuck in the doghouse!!! even better to hear that sir dom has taken on a leadership role with this team!!! i expect big things from CJ

As fans, we forget all the external things that go on in a 20 year olds life. We wish them to be 100% focused on SJU hoops 24/7...the reality is different. Exactly why we should just enjoy watching them mature and stop bitching about every tactical mistake and silly mental error. Jones has Anthony Glovers body and 3 more inches of height, as he matures, he will be a beast.

I hope so too. But it is great to be part of a team that care
for the person We need him

This was already picked up on JJ last night, but attached is a NY Post article describing the ordeal Jones has endured earlier this season after losing 2 of his childhood friends in two car crashes five weeks apart.

Not doubting the story is true, but given the events of the past 2 days, maybe now is not the best time to be running with this topic.

Jones does seem like a good kid, geniunaly. Thought he sparked us on defense when he was in there the other night.

Are you referring to the Te'o story?? If so, I'm not following your point.

Yes.

All it means is that, for the time being, anytime the loss of a loved one is going to be brought up by someone, especially in a hard luck case, it will be natural (at least for me) to take a step back and say, "are the players and/or team embellishing this"?

Again, I have no reason to believe that the story is not true. But given the Te'o thing, I'd be lying if I said something like that didn't at least cross my mind.

Again, I thought it was true all the way. But come on, next time you here something like this, you're gonna say that's not gonna cross your mind? Even for at least a split second?
