Chris Obekpa

Exactly. I thought for sure Kansas had Sampson locked up and look what happened.

I didn't. And most insiders didn't.

Obekpa has had twists and turns but all signs point South.

Zagoria got his info from one of Obekpa's AAU assistant coaches and the UC guy Brendel got his info from a "high ranking" Oregon official. This has to be one of the strangest recruitments I can remember, I have a feeling some handlers have their hands out. Honestly I see him going to Cincinnati based on the Adidas connection (his AAU is adidas). I know its a shady tactic, but all schools do it...

I'm also wondering the same, as this has been a topsy-turvy-like recruitment. He's probably being pulled in all sorts of directions.

I don't think he was ever going to pick Oregon anyway regardless of his potential visit and I think Cincy is probably the choice and no I don't think either Cincy or SJU for that matter if he surprises and picks SJU has anything to apologize for, period.

Hearing UConn could be getting more seriously involved...and the plot thickens....

Pukonn is a dead program at this point. No one is going there.

Let him go there. On his twitter he already said his heart wasn't here so I doubt it will be SJU. I'd still prefer Chandler if he's cleared and if not, then Nolan seems like another good prospect. Both Chandler and Nolan in the 6'11" range which I like.

There's a big difference between 6'8" or 9" and 6'11", so I would like to get real size to compliment our other 6'8" and 6'7" guys.

And, if a kid does not want to be here, he should go elsewhere, for his sake, and ours.

I am confident Lavin will bring in another big guy, and I think we will be VERY competitive next year in the conference.

As has been said, I think our recruiting class is under the radar because it includes a few transfers and JC kids. That's great. We will sneak up on a lot of people.

Is there any chance this kid still winds up a Johnny?  I thought not from what I have read here.

Pretty much no chance

If so Moose, do u think we will pull offer to Felix?

I would be so quick to say we pull it. I think there is strong possibility Felix wanted to play with him so choice is his if you know what I mean

Why. They lost Oriakhi, Bradley and Drummond. Really no productive bigs returning I don't think Wolff or Olander are going to scare away quality bigs and Daniels underwhelmed last year as well. And Stutterin Jim seems to like having 4-5 on the roster. They have room for both Nolan and Obekpa.

All signs point to Cincy with Oregon throwing up a last salvo trying to reign him in.

I understand that but was only debating F96's assertion that they were out of it for Obekpa because Nolan signed. More likely Nolan was signed because they were out of it for Obekpa though in reality neither is entirely true.
