Nothing for STJ to do but win the next two and see where the chips fall.

If they finish 6th they get a meaningless game that they have to win big, and then they probably get Creighton and will have to beat them again.

If they finish 5th it's good for ego, saves one night of playing, and they will probably get the Hall.

IMHO if there was a choice (and there isn't a choice, whatever it is is what it will be), the better scenario is 5th/Hall as opposed to 6th/DePaul/Creighton. The extra win in the win column does nothing for them, the extra game hurts them if they wind up getting to Friday, and regular season notwithstanding I think they have a better chance vs The Hall than they do vs Creighton.

Just my opinion.

Mantra has to be just win, as many as possible. But I think your picture is too pessimistic. I think one BET win and we're in, assuming we close out the regular season with 2 wins.. I can not see a BE team w/ 11 conference wins and 20 overall not making the tourney.
I'd much rather go with your scenario, but I tend to expect the worst, so pessimism is in my DNA. Either way it is good to be excited about St. John's Basketball in March. Usually by March 1 I'm just going about the motions of watching the games and cursing the losses.

If we only beat DePaul on Wednesday night by, say, 18 points, it will hurt us. Spread will be like -22.

That said I’m not sure I hate the idea of playing 3 seed Creighton in a sure fire win-and-in scenario
I think if we play fri nite we in. a lot of us looking for that game for 20 years. Closest we been was a loose to cuse when we lost our forward start of the game. I forget names now. I think we got lucky vs rutgers game before.

Why are so many ignoring the sweat-inducing but possible scenario where we win out reg 19-12 (11-9) and get in regardless of BET? Seems like any win in BET locks us in if we win out reg. It would take BALLS to leave out a 20 win Pitino led SJ team from field.
Also, strong at the finish, momentum, how the team is performing
Now, has to have strong appeal and this

We got close a few yrs ago when we lost to Seton Hall in OT during Champ’s sophomore year. Worst part is we would have played Georgetown next in the semis after the Hoyas upset Nova in the quarterfinals.

I did not see it. I was still laughing about when Posh's brick got stuck btwn the rim and the backboard. HAHAHAHAAHAHA

Goodfellas GIF

It's amazing how Depauland GTOWN wins will hurt us, but don't seem to have the same impact on anyone else bubbling in the BE.

I think that line of thinking is horse crap.

We win the next two and first round of the BE tourny, and we are in.

Heels dug until proven otherwise.

The last time any member asked or told people not to talk about a player. and posters heeded that request was ……… never
my point was all year some people were only talking about him and our former players. Its time to move on. I dont care how well jenkins did vs any other point guard we play, I only care about how well jenkins did period! :)

Tough ask for Neptune. @PC, @SHU and Creighton at home.
Just give me a W at PC, and I'm a happy man.

I can't worry about Nova and Utah winning out, I'll go nuts. If it happens? Great.

Just want a Nova W @ PC. Really want to avoid Wednesday in the B.E. Tournament.

We’re pretty deep into the minutiae of Bubble Talk here but…is it more beneficial to have 2 more wins against the field OR to have a slightly more favorable seed in the BET? I’d personally take +2 wins against the field on the resume sheet & trust them to play straight up against whoever they draw in the BET but it’s a weird, fun debate.
