Pick you poison, I think.

If we end at the sixth seed, then we play a meaningless game against Depaul. Even if we blow the doors off them it won't matter to the selection committee, and it only makes for tired legs the next night, or worse, an injury. Next round would be against Creighton. Win that one and we get to the NCAAT. Lose that one and we go home.

If we end at the fifth seed, we do get a chance for revenge against Seton Hall (assuming they hold only the 4th seed). If we take them down that is much better for our resume, but still probably not be enough. Winner of that likely goes against UCONN. Win that one and we are in.

So, do we want to risk injury / tired legs facing Depaul to get a shot at Creighton? Or do we want to have to go through both the Hall and UCONN? I don't know which one is better. Either way I still feel like we need two wins in the BET to get a bid. At this point I am not watching the standings and will just wait to see where things settle. The team that played on Sunday and Wednesday is a team that can beat anyone in this league. As long as that team shows up to the BET then I think there is a chance we play Friday night no matter what our seed ends up being.
No poison to me.

Vs. UConn and Marq we were leading in all 4 games, even @ Creighton we were up at half.
Only thing was that we were absolutely horrible in those damn 2nd halfs.

Now, it's looking like we learned how play all 40 minutes, so yeah if no more screw ups in the 2nd halfs, I am sooo damn confident that they can win the B.E. Tournament, I really don't give 2 craps about UConn and Marq. Infact I want them both. Beat one Friday night and the other for the B.E championship.

That's a statement not only to the B.E. but also nationally that: ST. JOHN'S IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again thank you Shanley for bring Rick here, and thank you Rick for coming.

Lets bring it home fellas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Last comment on Butler.
I was one yelling to stop pressing and fouling. Thought that was the reason we lost to SH but as I was waiting for a Butler run in the 2nd half to find they had nothing left - at the 6 minute mark they were completely shot and exhausted- we physically beat them down.
I may stop yelling about the 2 half pressing

Great post by Bobby 123. Last night during the first half there were posts criticizing Pitino‘s use of the press. It wasn’t resulting in any easy baskets and appeared to be not working.
Around the middle of the second half another post mentioned how Butler seemed spent and were packing it in. Perhaps Pitino‘s strategy , having a bigger roster was to tire Butler out.

Latest comments from Zach Braziller :

Some thoughts on suddenly resurgent St. John's.

- NCAA Tournament is now very much in play. Seeing a lot of first four out now after these two big Quad 1 wins. Root for Villanova and Utah. Both can easily become extra Quad 1 wins. Villanova has a NET of 32 and Utah 53. If Nova moves up to 30 and Utah up to 50, that would bring St. John's up to five Quad 1 wins.

- All along I've felt St. Johns would need to run the table and reach the Big East Tournament semifinals. Still feel that way. Will have more on that later.

- Glenn Taylor Jr. has become a huge part of this team again. St. John's has outscored the opposition by 46 points when he's on the floor in wins over Creighton and Butler.

- Feel like Joel Soriano is slowly getting back into it. Was his best rebounding game (13) in quite a while yesterday. They have gone away from posting him up and using him much more as a screener.

- Even when Daniss Jenkins doesn't score it well, he still makes an impact. Nine assists and one turnover yesterday. I think he's a second team all-league player.

Love what I'm seeing from Jordan Dingle. Had some big baskets in the second half. Just seems so much more comfortable and confident.

- I like RJ Luis' role off the bench. Brings instant offense. Thought he had an underrated good game yesterday. Less forcing it. They need his explosiveness. But playing him in smaller doses feels like the way to go.

If Villanova wins out those two wins against them probably become quad 1 wins and then maybe we only need one win in the Big East Tournament to get in.

One of which was the intentional shot clock violation at the end of this game. So really, it's 8 turnovers.
And another when Joel made a save on a missed shot going out of bounds that he couldn't get to Ledlum but if he had just let it drop it wouldn't have been a TO either.

Here I is. I almost never post during the game. People do be posting some nonsense on here and I'm likely one of the worst culprits. But the mid-game thread posting is a whole other level of ridiculousness that I'm only too happy to avoid.
+100. A lot of those post don’t age well at all.

I apologize for the double post but I found this picture after the first post...notice the "red" dress...it's a sign from God...Ha Ha
Donna Pescow in the red dress and she is also the cashier I the store when Travolta uses his credit card and she asks “Where have you been?

Nah, that's the girl he dances with, Karen Lynn Gorney (of course I had to look up her name). Donna Pescow is obviously featured in a number of scenes, many gruesome, but not in that pic.

Karen Lynn Gorney was one of the worst casting choices (in one of my favorite movies ever) of all time. I never bought the idea that Trovolta was gaga over her. She wasn't even that good a dancer, she was no looker and she was only an average actress. Think that may have been her only acting credit ever. Not surprised.

I wasn’t a fan of her “Brooklyn” accent. She tried way too hard on that.
