Butler, Tue., Jan. 2, 8:30p, FS-1

As one of announcers said, even when Brady misses it looks like it’s going in. It has been that way all year. Kid is a stud. He caught up on defense. Wilcher however still looks lost and slow.
Perhaps heed your own solid advice on Ledlum regarding Wilcher.

Please never mention Jenkins and Ponds together. Who ever disparaged Ponds?! He was incredible for us. This wouldbe a Sweet 16 team with him.

Jenkins has no awareness. Not only is he a poor shooter, he is surrounded by better shooters. Ledlum is shooting 36%, Soriano 78%, Taylor 43%. Literally everyone is better. Alleyne is 38%. Conway, Dunlap, Traore, Wilcher…all better.

So why is he pulling up off the dribble 3 seconds into the shot clock when he’s 1-4 on the night and 24% for the season and his career from 3 outside of the MAAC? He shot 24.6% as a frosh and 23.3% as a soph from 3 in the WCC. His soph year the WCC was loaded with BYU, Gonzaga, St, Mary’s etc. and he has a similar strength of schedule to what we have thus far (+5.23 compared to +5.98 this year). He had a negative SOS at Iona (-2.76) obviously.

He’s not going to get better…and he doesn’t have to. He just has to realize his weaknesses at this level.

There a reason why Pitino only praises guys like Jenkins, Traore, and Zuby while strongly criticizing Soriano and Luis when they mess up.

Jenkins is the basically the same caliber shooter as Taylor yet one is shooting 43% while the other is shooting 24%. Why is that? Have your ever seen Taylor take a bad shot? I honestly can’t remember one. Jenkins takes 3-4 terrible shots a game and he usually airball barely hits glass once.
I don't want to get on the Jenkins bashing train, but last night I counted at least 2 or 3 times where he did a great job getting into the lane and a red hot Dunlap was waving his arms wide open waiting for a pass that never came.

Once in the lane with the ball what happened?

In my section we were trying to figure it out. The play itself (pass inside to Ledlam who made a nice move and scored) didn’t seem controversial (no travel or offensive foul). Must have been from the previous play on the other end and was probably building.
He got ejected because after he got the T he inadvertently brushed the ref. Any touching of ref calls for an automatic ejection.

Nothing against your boy hood dreams posh but he didn't win with us and lost against us sooooo??????? Can we please stop mentioning his name like he is Jesus !. Great kid plays well but not hearing where is this kid or where is that kid ? Or that all star freshman recruit that left us after his Mom said he was loyal . So important I can't remember his name .

Jenkins was our leading scorer the other night ! Why so much hate in this kid does he shoot first yes but also see him dish out great passes at times.

Only here can one of our own be in the midst of a transcendental 15 assist 1 turnover run, and winning streak, yet the takeaway for some is that the pale freshmen waving his arms at the 3 point line was missed by our star.

Two huge post Christmas wins with Jenkins our leading scorer in both on efficient 50% shooting. 15 assists to 1 turnover in said wins! You ingrates can take your unwarranted criticism of the Carmine Mfp and shove it. A simple "Thank You!" Would suffice.

1-8 from 3. Do that against two good teams and it's trouble.

I just don’t get the Jenkins hate. Sure he’s not perfect but without him, we lose to Hofstra.

This is the thing. No one hates him. But to point out his flaws and hope he can improve on them since it is important for him to do so to achieve some of this boards lofty goals is seen as such by those with a black and white mentality. Shades of grey my friend, shades of grey. Despite my critiques I'd still much rather have him than Posh, and certainly he needs to play the position on this team. Just see the court a bit better, make the passes quicker and don't shoot so many threes unless they there is marked improvement. Everyone can improve somewhere but this board does spend an inordinate amout of time discussing Daniss because his role is the most important on the floor and can exponentially affect the outcome of many games. Burden of the PG, especially in the absence of another option. And Marillac always speaks in superlatives so maybe he sounds a bit harsher than most but read between the lines and it's apparent he feels the same way. Once you spend 25 years chatting with these guys you'll get it. Daniss is the PG and he's doing pretty good. Strive for greatness.

I agree with almost most of this post. Except the Marillac part.

Just when Marillac took one step forward and started showing cracks in the Jenkins armor, Slyfoxx has to bring up Ponds and ruin everything.

Slyfoxx, please stick to your main duties here as my deputy short paragraph law enforcer. 😉😃

Kran, the paragraph gig has dried up . The multitude has figured out how to separate paragraphs .

It’s debatable about 2 Marillac and baby steps .

There was no implication equating Jenkins with Ponds on the Court. It was simply stating the criticism with Jenkins is tiresome to many as it was back in the day with Ponds .

Obviously Pitino ,and Casey Jacobson on the post game think differently about Jenkins than Marrilac . Which is fine , it’s all opinion anyway

Obviously, he's shooting poorly from three. But leading scorer shooting 50% from the field on a winning streak is leading scorer shooting 50% from the field on a winning streak. Get over it!

A 2 game winning streak against a veritable murderers row no less. :ROFLMAO:

I'd like to play a weekend game in the dance so I'm hoping for just a little improvement.

No one hates him.
Starts with an M...ends with a c. His smarter buddy wasju is either in the same boat or holding on to the bow but at least has the good sense not to bad mouth Jenkins as he's literally saving our season winning by himself against local Colonial conference foes while Soriano is having his worst game of the season.
