Butler, Sat., Jan. 4 , 2p, FS-1

Even if Richmond came in out of shape in June, no reason that by Nov he wasn't in great shape.

Who's running the show- Anderson or Mullin? They were supposed sticklers for conditioning too... and we had Ponds, Posh etc...

Legacy continues.

Marilliac cafeteria must be high sodium.
Endless supply of NIL Twinkie$

It was clear Kadary was carrying too much weight and seemingly out of shape from the get go. For the $ he got, one would expect him to come in prime shape ready to roll. He did not, but was designated one of the team captains lol.

Not sure about RJ having weight problem too, Perhaps it is “Rick speak”. I agree he does not appear so, but who knows.

If both players are indeed out of shape, has the strength & conditioning coach been in Guam for the last several months?😎
It's obvious that with all the extra cash in their pockets they're spending more at the high end restaurants on Union Turnpike.

The Creighton post game comments and now this are very unsettling.

Did they not know who they were getting when they dropped the bag for Kadary? No scouting report? No talk about how he’d fit in the system? Are we now going to have our physically unconditioned “star” handle the ball more?

None of these comments make sense.

What a jerk ''when they dropped the bag for Kadary?'' Someone should tell him they don't do that anymore.

If any of you guys are going to the pregame tailgate, and you see a Johnnies Tuxedo shirt on a guy with a goatee, come say hello.

It's way too early to tell, don't you think?
No. Do you know that a 9 seed has never won the NCAA College Basketball Championship? Also, did you know that a 9 seed has lost 67 out of 74 games in the second round of the college basketball championship tournament against the number 1 seed? Your response will probably be there's always a first time. So place the bet.

I can only watch the start of this one. I hope the Nova/DePaul game doesn't go long and we start on time. I'm going to have to "phone score watch" the rest. Ugggghhhh!

RP isn’t bashful about letting the NYPost know when he he is displeased with a Player .
He did it forcefully last year when he threw many in the team under the bus .
“ Our team has limited lateral quickness .” Which meant Dingle , Ledlum and Soriano mostly .”

Now he’s publicly targeted Richmond for being over weight and out of shape .
Which supports the many comments already made by posters that KR isn’t the player he was last year .
It’s also clear to anyone watching that Smith and KR are not compatible players . Both needing the ball exclusively to be effective .
Forcing the 2 of them into the line up together is bad coaching 101 . It’s also , in my opinion disrupted Wilcher’s development .

While I agree it is obvious for coach to say Kadary had the ball in his hands more last year, I think that is telling. I for one, probably in the minority, wouldn't mind Kadary and Smith having closer to a 50-50 split with the ball in their hands. Maybe putting Kadary in that more familiar role, more often could help bring out the player who was a potential all American. That player, if he appears, would have a higher ceiling than Smith, who I also like very much. It's a tough challenge trying to get the most out of both of them when they both might be better with the ball in their hands.

I think as the season goes on coaches and players will figure it out. Maybe that's blind optimism, but they seemed to figure it out last season. Let's hope for the same result as the season progresses this year.

Or maybe all that extra cash in their pockets is simply weighing them down? 🤪 Or could it have something to do with the old, I’ve already made the money, who do I have to impress? Especially those who are clearly not NBA material.

Agree SLY. To a greater extent Anderson had the same problem with Posh and Curbelo which ultimately destroyed the team. Bringing in two accomplished floor leaders like Smith and Kadary was a huge mistake. All that coach speak on how they were learning to co exist is nonsense. The old “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” apply here. If both envision playing professionally somewhere at the PG position, each may be seen as an obstacle to each others goals. II hope Pitino and staff can figure that out.
